Oregon Taxpayers ... going to take it up the kister next year

This year my homeowners insurance went up 25%. auto went up over 20%, commercial vehicle insurance went up 30%, business liability going up 300%!!!!! , worker's comp going up 40%.

NEVER had a claim except in 1996 when hail destroyed roof on home. Property taxes on nursery only have gone from $280. 00 in 1996 to over $1600. 00 for 2001.

Local business license doubled last Jan. from $100. 00 to $200. 00.

My Arkansas Nurseryman's license this year is going from $80. 00 to $600. 00. By the way, a license to practice law in Arkansas is $20. 00. A medical license is $35. 00(?).

Try practicing law or medicine without a license. Your going to jail!!! Go ahead and landscape out of your pickup. Put up yard signs, advertise in the newspaper, buy a yellow pages ad. You don't have to worry about getting caught. The Arkansas State Plant Board won't be able to find you to prosecute for no license.

I am paying over $1000. 00 in license fees each year and in excess of $9000. 00 for business insurance. Another $3500. 00 or so for other misc government mandates.

Mrs. Redneck and I are becoming more sure with each passing day that it's not worth it anymore.

Ain't it!

I had a little motorcycle repair buisness a couple of years ago. Everthing was going OK until Insurance company got wind of buisness in my garage. They wanted an extra 210. 00 a month to cover customers bikes in garage. They also told me they would cancel me if it continued. If I used these same tactics it would be extortion and I would go to jail. I wasn't making that much money and it was mainly a hobby, but I think I would go underground if I ever started it again. To he11 with the insurance companys, the state tax, the county tax, and the city tax.

I am begining to wonder if a guy isn't better off taking a few bucks and stashing it until needed for medical, home repair, or car repair. I drop all collision on my vehicles as soon as they are payed for, but still pay too much for basic liability. And they raise when ever they feel like it, you don't need to have an accident to have a rate increase. This state and most require liability. To me it is giving the insurance companys a license to rob.

Just wait until workmans comp catches up with EVERYONE! We have a small corporation and just got our renewal. The rates have doubled since last year. We have an excellant record, they just raised the rates. they are doing it to everyone we have talked to. This adds about 5% to the total labor cost, they will not cover existing jobs at the old rate.

Talk about something that sucks! Really cuts into the profits.

GET UP AND GO TO THE WINDOW!!!!

OPEN IT UP AND SCREAM ... .

"I'M MAD AS HELL ... AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANY MORE!!!!!!"

Sounds like you need a Howard Beal moment.

Either that or we all need something stronger than a "Tea Party"

in this country.

I think much of the blame for insurance costs rising should be laid at the feet of the "give 'em a million dollars" juries that keep awarding HUGE $$$$ to people.

Case in point, a jury this week awarded a woman 68 BILLION, yes that's with a B, dollars 'cuz after years of smoking, she developed lung cancer.

This stupidity has got to stop.

Funny how the price of everything goes up as the economy goes down. Give to the rich take from the poor.

Funny my isurance company thinks I only have a five mile drive too work. I forgot to tell them about the zero that should be next to the 5.

EVIL GBall hear!!I hear ya shovel head. "I think much of the blame for insurance costs rising should be laid at the feet of the "give 'em a million dollars"

juries that keep awarding HUGE $$$$ to people. " Just heard of a freind of mines kid (19 years old) bought a 2002 CTD (aught to make you guy's proud). I asked her how he can afford that. She said he just recieved his settelment from the school district,$90,000 bucks. I geuss when he was a sophmore he was working in the wood shop and the board he was cutting on the table saw kicked back. Caught him square in the nutt's. He ended up looseing one...

Gues you can say he litterally gave his left nut for a CTD:--) later EVIL GBall 97 F350 PSD
