The wilson type is not the same as mine. Mine retains the stock grid heater and can use ANY common aftermarket or stock elbow.

Dont know how much it would matter as the 12s are a little different. but any improvement made to the flow of air through the engine helps.

Fuel lines would be a headach, thats why Banks did the twin Ram. Did you ever find your stock AFC spring?

Bob

I found it and installed it along with a #100 plate. I'd like you to do some of your tuning magic on it when you have time. If that works for you, just let me know and we'll set up a time. Thanks, Jim

What did you use to grind the material off of the first onr you posted pics of on here? How thin did you go? Is heat an issue there with the thinner material? I have mine all apart and couldn't test it for a few weeks, and I'll also have a helix cam and hopefully a new exhaust and a smarty too, but if this has been "proven" then wht not?!

bolts in-line just like a stock unit. I drive mine daily and in all 4 seasons. I have noticed increases in spool, cooling, and over-all power especially on top-end.

The stock plate was ground clean all the way underneath. removed all ribs and pushed over 55psi with it with no problems.

is the manifold underside on a 07 5. 9 the similar to the pictures posted i would like to do this also because it should benefit from this modication also and if so has anyone do it yet and how they liked it

The CR's are a little different and have bolt bosses underneath.
If you haven't yet, replacing the intake horn itself with a high flow unit, is a great mod for cheap.

thanks DCreed i have a cfm intake and heater grids deleted was just looks for alittle more air flow before looking at a better turbo. Your modifcation looked great and would improve the air flow. the cfm was a noticable improvement in spool, power and reduced egts,

DCreed,

How's the plate holding up after running it for a few more months?

I bought a new plate & gasket, just haven't had time to rework it.

the billet "high rise" plate has been flawless! :D over 60psi often and zero issues. I will be pushing it to 90+psi soon, but it has been tested to 200psi so I dont foresee any problems.

original cut stock plate is in Wyoming. it saw many 55psi drag passes and 50psi DD/towing time and held just fine.

headgasket was not so fortunate!:-laf
