silencer ring
jv... ... ... take the air hose from the airbox to the turbo off. look into the turbo throat, and yu'll see a "large washer"--silencer ring held in by a large internal snap ring. takes a couple of screwdrivers to get the snap ring out. then just remove the ring. the throat of the turbo is aluminum, so be careful to get the aluminum "crumbs" out.
prob no difference in performance. other members have posted results on the dyno that pretty much proved no improvement in performance. get more turbo noise, but it's a high pitched whine that some folks don't like. i like it.
since you still have the stock air box, remove the snorkel from the box to the fender well. i then took the bottomn of the air box and drilled several 1 1/2 holes in the bottomn part. later changed to the BHAF, which i like better. (Fleetguard AH19037; NAPA 2790)
