Anybody who is thinking of lifting your truck, stay away from these tires. I've had three replaced under warranty in two years. The tread started seperating causing the tread lugs to seperate from the tire casing. This past Tuesday on my way home from work, I was cruising at 70 MPH on the lovely Long Island Expressway, when my whole truck started shaking violently. Many unpleasant thoughts were running through my head. I slowed down and pulled over. A fast look under and around the truck revealed nothing unusual. I then continued on my way at a slower speed, but the shaking got worse. Then it happened, the tire literally popped. I pulled over and could not believe what I was seeing. The steel belts in the tire broke blowing a huge hole right through the center of the tread. Fortunately my rim was undamaged. This makes it an even 4 crappy tires I've had. You will notice that Interco recently changed these size tires from 6 ply to 10 ply. Gee I wonder why? Buyer beware.

I have those tires on my Jeep, see signature, and I love them they work great and have never had a problem. The sidewalls are extremely strong as well. The main thing is I do not really drive my Jeep on the highway mostly because that is not were is is operated best. The things I hate about the tires though is when the are cold it would shake you like mad kinda like driving on square wheels if you will until they got warmed up. I would think if you want a tire for every day use I would consider a less agressive tire.

What is the speed rating on a Super Swamper anyway?

Read Exhaust Note in the last issue. You may be close to the weight rating and the speed rating.

Well you got the wrong tires for your truck. 6Ply is not enough of a ply rating for a 2500 or 3500.

Interco has had SSR TSL at 8 Ply that I have on my truck. These are great tires all around they also came in 2nd on a tire test threw one of those 4wheel mags. I have allmost 31,000 miles on my. I will need new ones soon. I have 35s on now but will be going up to 37s. Interco have been a tire for jeeps and small trucks. But now they are making new ones for the light trucks with 10Ply. I also have had these tires at speeds of 112MPH. :D

I was looking in to that. Seems that is the problem. TSL Super Swamper radials in my size were 6 ply Load Range "C" 2900 lbs. The newer TSL Super Swamper radials are now 10 ply. I don't know the Load Range. I checked with Interco and the Super Swamper SSR Series radials size 37. 0"x12. 50"x16. 5" are now Load Range "E" 4550 lbs. Seems like the perfect big tire for our trucks. I appreciate the information. -Glen
