Hey Wayne, I have not seen the artist yet. What station are you listining to that does that?

I just noticed that a couple of weeks ago. A station I listen to that used to just list their name, has switched to alternating their name with the song title and artist. Just a matter of some fancy programming on the station's end, it seems.

More things

Got a 03 around Oct 25th. Drove it from Ok to ark and into Mo then back to Kansas. No Vibrations noted except at idle there is a low frequency tone noticed. I keep listing and feeling the steering wheel but so far so good. we are at the 2500 mile mark now and looks like we are averaging around 19. 5 mpg. I'm hopeing for 22 when she gets broke in... . I'll have a great deal more data later on this 4X2... RD

mileage

Radar doctor, I am happy to hear about your good mileage. Were you towing anything? What is your ratio? How fast do you drive? Do you have a Q cab?

I seem to have bad luck in the mileage dept. I have only gotten a high of 17 mpg one time, with my 2004. That was the first tank-full. And that was because I was babying it during break-in. Since then I only get 14 to 16. However I pull a car trailer most of the time, 1/2 the time it is empty the other half it has a load that is only about 20 inches high. I guess that I would be interested in any tips you might be able to give me as far as improving my mileage.

more 03 stuff

Mr Barbwire in North Dkt, I have about 2600 miles on it and all of them were unloaded it looks like i'm around 19. 5 for that miles. I drive around 60 t0 70, more 60 than 70 tho for now anyway. I taled to my dealer and he said not to baby it just drive like you would anything else. For the first 500 i didnt use cruse and the speed went up and down. . now i get in and go. Do you know where west Hope ND is? My son and i do a lot of snow goose hunting up there. I bought my 95 dodge at Minot. Radar Doc...

how are you guys getting 19 + miles to the gal.

I have 3700 on my 03 and I am only geting 15. 4 right now...

confused???:{ :(

1800 rpm seems to give the best mileage.

I get between 19 and 20 diving to work and back, which is 75% interstate at 72 mph. Driving only on state roads at 55 - 60 mph yields me a fraction over 22 mpg.

I want to get some 315 tires and keep my speed the same as now using my gps. I think that will get the rpm down and give me better freeway mileage.

1800 seamed the best for my 95 as well -- but it cruised along at 70 at that rpm. I must say I liked the 3. 54 gears better, but the 3. 73s leave more room for bigger tires.

Water inside the doors

I've got about 2500 miles on this 03 truck. Because of salt all over it today i took it to the car wash. After i got home to dry it off , when i opened all the doors i noted water along all the rubber seals at the top of the truck. . Anybody have that? Also some dirt along the bottom of the door seals.

I thought my luck was bad, But according to your signature, I think you got me beat. But then again, it must be the 4:10s, that is dragging your mileage down.

Interesting thing

I noticed today that I was able to turn off the motor with the transmission still in reverse.

More Mileage

Hey Macker , Barbwire, Could it be your running 4. 10 and we are 3. 73 rear Ends????Also what about the difference in Climate temperatures ?????Colder spells lower Mileage. .

For what it's worth, I drive about 100 mi/day - almost all open road. Typically I'm empty. I run 77-78 mph (any slower and I'd get run over). I average consistently 17. 5. I have about 5000 miles now. My '97 4x4 (3. 54's) ran 18-18. 5. Given the size of the truck, duallys, and no bed cover, 'taint bad! My father in law gets 14-16 with his 2WD 360 V8 1500!

4:10s

I have 4:10s in my 1999 dually 4x4 5 sp, and the best I make anymore is 10 to 12. My 2004 is a single rear wheel 3:73s , 6 sp 2 wheel drive, HO. with 5000 miles on it so far, the times I penciled it out, I got 14 to 16. Average speed is about 67 mph. I have put my first tankful of blended fuel in just yesterday, otherwise it had only had #2. Have'nt figured mpg on the blend yet. I am sure that it will get somewhat better, at least I'm hoping. But I won't hold my breath.

Sorry Barbwire

if you put blend in , it will get less miles per gallon. No 2 diesel has more energy ( BTU's) (Goes to Heat) If the Temperature is not below 20 degrees Burn No 2 Fuel, You'll do better on the mileage. . When it gets below 20 I put blend in to keep it from gelling. I was surprised about 2 yrs ago I stayed over in Grand Island Ne and got up the next am and it was at zero, The truck started and smoked big time, it would only run abourt 25 mph so i headed for a fuel station, I got some anti gelling stuff and put it in and just left the engine running , in about 1/2 hr the stuff started working and i was able to continue on. So that's why i chose 20 degrees to go to Blend...
