Interesting Reading on the Ford 6.7L Diesel

Had no help what so ever with my 6. 0 problems! Maybe Ford should have took the goverment money to satisify the 6. 0 owners? Just my opinion. A loyal Ford Owner for 45 years now a new Ram in the driveway.

IMO, the billion $ warranty costs on the 6. 0 were instrumental in getting Ford into the normal capital markets for refinancing before the "Big One" hit in 2008. Failing that, they may have had their hands out like GM and Chrysler did.

Few people know/remember that Ford mortgaged anything they could get their hands on (factories, tooling, the blue oval trademark, etc. ) back in 2006 in a $23. 5B loan deal to avoid bankruptcy. In that respect, they were in worse shape than GM and Chrysler... .

I remember reading about that. And hearing from the inside- I was in contact with an engineer at the time, who was ducking for cover. Anything went to protect the family name and to keep the gov AWAY!

Based on my limited experience, and depending on whether you are able to connect with the knowledgeable warranty gurus, Chrysler wants their Rams to be "right" and Ford wants their trucks to get through the warranty period. I prefer Ram's attitude of selling components and capabilities that exceed what is expected for pickup trucks.

I agree with you Joe.

The reason i have decided to go with the Dodge Ram is this reason. I want my first Diesel Truck to last and Dodge has the correct attitude, I am looking for.

I cannot afford to replace my Diesel Truck every three years after the warranty period. I maintain my vehicles and do the prescibe maintenance when it is called for, and have had no really big failures with any vehicles. I expect my Dodge Ram to last a long time, looking forward to it.
