There is also quite a bit of corrosion on the crossover cable terminals. Will continue cleaning and checking tomorrow.

How long were the batteries isolated, Justin? If it wasn't very long, I'd wager the poorer performing one will get even weaker as it sits.

Final update. After cleaning all grounds and connections. I firmly believe that my root cause was that loose ground on the block.

Yes, after everything was cleaned and back together, it seems to be fine. I am going to run it around the next couple of days and then test them again to make sure.
