Intermittent ticking

hey guys, I have an odd tick/click sound in my engine bay. It’s 5 clicks, once every second for 5 seconds then a delay of 5 seconds and so on. Only on start up. Once it starts to get warm it stops. Doesn’t do it every start up either. Coming from the passenger side of the engine bay. That ol 12 valve is so loud at idle I can’t pin point it. My pcm is bad so I’m thinking possibly the ac trying to kick on but you can see it’s not. Any other accessory that might do that? It’s the opposite side of the lift pump so I don’t think that’s the cause and it’s definitely not valves. It’s a very loud click click click click click. Thanks all.

That's going to be your grid heater cycling on and off. If you watch your volt meter it will drop significantly when it cycles on.

Could the exhaust manifold be leaking? Goes away when it warms up?

My grid heater doesn’t work. My pcm is bad. My voltage doesn’t drop.

It’s so rhythmic I’d assume it isn’t. And it’s a loud click like if you bent a credit card and let it slap the hood. Five clicks one per second every five seconds. I’ll try to grab a video of it

this might sound stupid but check your oil, my 93 will make tic sound from the valve train when the oil gets a little low but it will clear up when it heats up

Sorry no video guys, ended up stripping the front clip off and I’m pulling it out soon to redo all the seals and throw some paint on it. Will make a new thread soon with pics. Tired of chasing leaks.
