diesel care & performance revisited,

just wondering if any one had any more feedback about their injection pumps and there service?

My IP seems to be on the verge of dying. The shutoff solenoid lost a bunch of little rubber pieces off the plunger tip and I think thats whats causing my problems. 1. It will intermittently die at idle or run really low rpms. 2. now its starting to lose power off and on cruising down the road. If I step on the throttle slightly it always kicks right in and runs properly. its kinda like the IP is losing about half of its fuel when this happens.

I haven't heard good about them. The only one I knew of that bought one from them leaked in various places. I would get one from a reputable shop such as www.scheiddiesel.com.

I would gut that shutdown solenoid (remove the spring and plunger) then run a wire or choke cable to the shutdown lever on the side of the pump to shutoff. Some pumps don't run too well or last too long when turned all the way up.

I think MMiller has similar cruising issues. IIRC it turned out to be broken or worn plunger return springs.

I've had the plunger and spring out for around 1200 miles but its still getting worse. I've got several reputable diesel shops within reach I was just hopeing that maybe dieselcare was a good place to buy seeing they are a couple hundred cheaper.

I had to ask Jay. I thought he would know... ... ...

I look in the web site slang directory and it's not there.

I see this all the time and have no idea what you guys are trying to convey.

i was taking my turbo off and IIRC

Took the wife to the doctor and IIRC

I got a dash pod for Christmas and IIRC

:rolleyes:

now, I know, too. Or NIKT. Why cant people just type stuff out anymore? With Bill's post count, I doubt he is a hunt and peck typer.

Remember the old adage- "You get what you pay for. " Contrary to local Southeast MO belief, cheapest isnt always best.

Thank-you. Or TY :D

I just bought a used turbo and the guy shipping it told me something about the turbo. It was the ""IIRC"" and been wondering if I missed something or would be in for some kind of suprise when it arrived.

My 12 year old Nephew ""talks"" like this. Needless to say, I try to ignore him cuz our conversations are one sided anyhow. :rolleyes: :p :-{}
