A friend of mine has a '05 2500. When he plugs his iPhone in to charge (arm rest outlet only) it will keep his brake lights on. This does this whether the truck is running or not. Because of this, he can't use cruise control and charge his phone at the same time unless he uses one of the outlets on the dash. He has experiemented with other devices like the company blackberry and GPS and found they don't have the same effect on the lights. Seems odd only the iPhone behaves in such a way. Has anyone experienced this or do you know of a fix other than use the dash?

I find it difficult to even imagine a logical explanation for this. You're sending the same two leads, battery and ground to each phone.

I have a portable DVD player for my kids. I plugged it into the armrest/console and my dash lights started to flicker. After I unplugged it the amber light on the A/C switch blinked on and off for quite some time. I shut off the truck, let it sit and when I restarted it everything was OK.

Personally, I blamed the charger cord not the truck. I have plugged other things in that outlet with no issues.
