Shocks for towing

I am making plans to purchase a 2nd diesel Ram. My preference is a 94-98 12 valve diesel but will consider a 98 24 valve but nothing newer due to limited budget. Truck must have extended cab,4wd, but short or long bed is OK. I Prefer 2500 and under 100k miles, but will consider a 3500.

This time I want an Automatic so my wife can drive it too. She won't drive a stick.

This truck will replace my '94 Dakota 318 extended cab with 72,000 miles, automatic. I will trade it, otherwise sell it after buying the Ram. Please post a response if you are thinking of selling one, or e-mail me.

I plan to BOMB it, so warranty is not a requirement, but would be nice if it has an extended policy.

I learned from one of the responses that the 12 Valve engine in the mid 90's use mechanical timing instead of computer controlled. You can't bomb it with computer mods. Anyone know when that changed on the 12 V. I guess I need to go post the question in the 12V forum.

Rick, All 12 valves are mechanical, the 24 valve is when they went to computer control.

Rick,

All the '94s are regular cabs. '95 was the first year with the club cab. Don't get a CA compliant 12V truck after the '95. They have an EGR valve #ad
which messes up the bombing deal. Actually, you can get pretty good power in a 12V for nothing. Just slide the stock place forward. Or you can do like Joe D. with Sickly and make 609 HP ( #ad
#ad
) with a few(?) mods.
