Yep...Another Happy CTD Newbie

Hello to all,

Well, I'm finally going to do it and I want to do it right. After due consideration of the Big Three, I've decided to go with Dodge. I'm going to order a new 3500 Quad Cab Laramie 6-Speed SWB SRW with the H Pkg. and a half dozen options. I've priced the vehicle at two dealerships and both are "willing" to sell the vehicle at or near what they call "FWP" or "invoice" price. When I build the truck on Dodge's website, the MSRP is $44,645. The "FWP" price from one dealer is $39,693 (Plus Document fees, and Sales tax) and the other dealer is a few dollars more. These prices do not reflect a $1. 000 mfg. rebate nor do they reflect a $1,000 rebate if I choose to finance it through Dodge. I hope I'm not out of line for asking but are these prices fair? I don't mind paying a fair price. I just don't want to be hosed. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

-Frank

ordering new dodge

You've just about taken all of the markup in this

vehicle except for about $350. invoice should be about

39,300 dollars, you're leaving him with about $1750

holdback, he should still make about $2000 on the sale

should you purchase at the price you quoted. You might

try to get some of the $2000 however, they are in the

business to make a profit. Go ahead and try to get it

at invoice. go to Kellybluebook.com and build that same

truck on the website and you'll see the exact invoice

price. That's about all that you can do, you

won't be able to beat it with a Ford or GM with the

price he's already given you.

Frank... Definitely shop around. You don't have a signature line so I can't tell where you're at. If you're anywhere near the Northwest, call Dave Smith Motors, in Kellogg, Idaho, or look them up on the web. Also, look up Tomeygun, on this site, and talk with him. Even if you don't buy at one of these dealers, you will still get a good idea what the discount is at a volume dealer. If you do nothing else, price the truck on Edmunds.com or one of the online pricing sites. I just don't think you will get the best price by walking into your local dealer. JMHO... ;)

Frank;

Get hold of Tommygun In St lewis, Mo. @ Lu Fuzz, He is a TDR member and gives good prices and service. Everyone who has bought from him is very happy with there deal. Just think, you have the chance to break it in driving it home. How ever there maybe a closer place to you, like the North west.

Frank fill in your location on your signature this would be a great help to localize you

just my penny's worth.

I just bought an 05 Laramie. Its a 2500 and I got it for $7000 off the window.

The dealer told me I was $532 over invoice after the deal was done. Right now is probably a good time to buy because it is their slow season.

Contact Butch at Dishman Dodge in Spokane, $1000. 00 below invoice and you keep all the rebates. Don't forget to get the Farm Bureau discount!!.

Good luck finding wheels.

Thanks, you just saved me around $1700. Ordered my new loaded Laramie 3500 TD from Butch for invoice minus $1000 plus took $3000 in rebates. Local dealer was toying with me and feeding me BS. Now I gotta wait a month to drive it.

Frank. . use the Dishman/Butch connection and thell them your TDR. .

only other dealer I would use near you is in Carson City. . BUT make sure you have a quote from Butch in hand first... run don't walk from the Reno dealers !!

Frank...

Can't tell if you've done the deal, but here is what I got when I ordered mine, this week:

Dealer Cost ($37979) minus $1050 dealer discount, minus $1500 Chrysler rebate, minus $1000 Chrysler finance, minus $500 Farm Bureau. The total, out the door price will be $33929 (plus tax and license). This was on a truck that had a MSRP sticker of over 42K.

This was better then the deal I was offered from that special place in Spokane, and I get to pick it up locally, in town.

The bottom line is this... If you want the best deal you have to have the documents to support your position. Quotes from Dave Smith, Butch Wilmes at Dishman Dodge, in Spokane, or Tomeygun, will definitely help your cause. If you walk in and just say "some other dealer will sell it to me for XXX dollars" they will just not deal with you. Take the time to get some quotes and you will save $$$. Even if you have to pay a little more, you will probably get a heavy discount, and be able to buy locally...

I took delivery of my new '06 RAM 3500, CTD, LWB, 4X4, h Pkg, 6 speed in August. Cost me about what you're paying with the rebates. Take advantage of the Farm Bureau discount as well. Its an easy $500 in your pocket. I really like the sunroof and XM Radio. With the MOPAR employee pricing program you really can't go wrong.
