Since I will have my trans out this weekend for an oil pan gasket replacement, I was wondering if it would be really worth it to change out my lift pump.
The pump seems fine to me, I haven't checked my fuel pressure in a while and it rarely ticks anymore. No stumble from the engine under hard accelerations, so I assume it is getting enough fuel and the pressure is still fine. But being I have everything out of the way for a quick, easy and painless swap, is it really worth it or should I just clean or the pre-heater screen and leave the pump alone?
I know the 'ol saying don't fix it if it ain't broken and I tend to try and live by that, so what do you guys think, just leave it alone and clean the screen?
Thanks, Joe
