True, but like many they like to call things what they were originally called.

Better off for sure.Thank you for all the input.
Well, I did not purchase the truck. I will not reveal the dealer (out of state from my location), but here is what happened.
Truck was listed on the internet for for a reasonable price - given todays market. When it was time to actually do the numbers they jacked the price of the truck up to where it was $9k over MSRP. Lots of misc charges.
This is a used truck and I was not adding any accessories. I wanted it as shown. Salesman said (since I was out of state) he would be honest with me. He said they use AI to determine price and this morning it got jacked up due to sales and internet search inquiries over the weekend. An accessory charge was to make up for loss of sales on other vehicles --- What?
Since I did not have a contract they were not going to budge. All the karma had left the room with these upcharge shenanigans, so I said no thanks.
I went to my local dealer and asked about this AI + charges thingy. First I got the Clint Eastwood looks from Hang'm High. You know, where they all stare at each other.
He said you may be better off ordering and it will be cheaper than a used one. I asked about his order status and he said at least 9- 12 months for an HO.
I guess the heavier 5th will have to wait and I will keep using the 96'.
But, I will keep looking.
Thank you for all the input.

BTW Dodge Trucks were last made in 2012.
Not to argue, okay maybe that's on me, but my 2011 said Ram on the window sticker and said Dodge on the dash, thought that was the last year.
Probably depends on what parts they run out of along the way.But agree on the could be +9 months for sure at times. Mine was just about 5 months delivered.
Nope 12 was. My dad had a 12 and upper center dash said DODGE as it legally had to say so somewhere thru model year 2012.
We've all seen those Ford Kentucky speedway deal, it's not good out there for sure. You never know.Probably depends on what parts they run out of along the way.
