I had a reflash done by Cummins for low power... ... ... I was at least 40 rwhp off form upgrades I have done. Prior to the reflash, I never had this problem, now after I start the truck and put it in gear I get a "pulsing". It's bad in first gear, and REAL BAD in reverse.

It happens every time I switch gears (auto trans). Doesn't matter how long I wait between Drive and reverse, doesn't matter if I put it in nuetral for a bit either.....

I have seen this happen to a couple of peope that have BIG injectors, but not with stage 3's.

I had a real hard time trying to back the truck up last night. It almost sounded/felt like a monster truck running alcohol... ... . very lopey idle... ... ... ... ... ... . VERY LOPEY.

Thanks for any info.

George

Go back and have them put in the program for the automatic transmission, the manual transmission program you have does not know correctly how to deal with the load of the torque convertor when at idle with no throttle applied.

If you bump the throttle then it starts to lope it will smooth right out until the next gear change. I have been running a manual transmission program for 30K miles or so.

Did you get the power back that you were missing from the flash?

For another re-flash... ... ... ... ... they want to charge me even more money. This re-flash cost me $222... ... ... ... ... ..... It would probably be about the same for another reflash

Well, just hooked up the comp to see what's up... ... ... ... ... now I'm ******!

The truck will not idle smooth at all... ... ... ..... I now have four codes, what do they mean?

P0743

P0753

P1765

P1694

Cummins said they had a hard time doing the reflash. They said it ook them 5 hours and they had to relfash it twice because they had the wrong program initially... ... ... ... ...

At this rate, the truck is parked until I can find out what's wrong.

I would bring it back and make them correct the problem at their own expense. It would again appear that they have the wrong program downloaded. Did you have them test drive the truck? Unless theres a problem with the BD3's your truck shouldn't act like that from the "correct" flash.

I see you said Cummins was doing the flash? They keep telling me that can't do this, only Dodge can.

Also, Keep in mine that Dodge Flat Rate only charges 1/2 hour for a reflash.

OK, here's an update.

The service manager from Cummins called me from his house today... ... ... ..... very good service IMHO!

He said to bring it on by on Monday and they will fix it at their expense... ... ... ... ... ..... whew! I was glad to hear it. The only thing he said is that maybe, this flash is not good with these injectors... ..... so they may have to put my old flash back in.

Yes, I did say Cummins did the reflash. I had to pay, and pay I did. But I felt they were the ones to see. They had to charge a minimum of one hours labor and a fee for obtaining the correct flash... ... ..... right now, as long as I can drive the truck I will be happy.

I will keep you guys updated.

Well, here's an update... ... .....

Took the truck back to Cummins.

They took care of the problem by doing another re-calibration of the ECM at their expense. Apprently, the re-cal they performed originally had was had a different code.

Now, the truck idles real smooth and appears to have better response. I will be going on the dyno again hopefully in a couple of weeks.

If your in the Northeast, and need to go to a Cummins dealer, I highly recommend Cummins Northeast. They having very good customer service.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

Now you have an automatic program in it, should idle great no matter what. Power output is still up in the air... .....
