Heard the dinging from my dash this Saturday and noticed that I have a "Lamp out" warning light. Man, that' thing's obnoxious! I got out and checked all around the truck but couldn't see any burned out lights. I got the warning in the middle of the day, when I wasn't using any switched lights. Anyone know how to track down which light is out, or does this require a $100 trip to the dealer, with a hook-up to the computer?

mine did the same thing. off and on though. I pulled the rear tailight lenses and one had a burn mark on the wire conductor part of the bulb that was interferring with it conducting electricity. replaced bulb, lamp out wen away.

Crunch,

Same thing happen to me about a month after I got the truck. All the lights were fine, and the darn thing would not shut-up. I made an appointment for the next day, and it shut off that morning. It never has returned.

I think there is a thread someplace about it. Do a search on "lamp out".

Mine did the same thing , I took it to the dealer and they told me it was a problem with the control mod. and they reprogramed it. It hasn't done it since.

LOL, been there. Do yourself a favor and check the tail lights. It seems that the bulbs may/may not make good contact in the housing. I can't tell you how many times I walked around my truck, didn't find it till I took the tail lights out and found some evidence of arcing.

My 03 did the same thing. Light would come on, I'd get out and check everything. Nothing. This went on for a couple weeks until my wife followed me home one night and said the drivers side brake light wasn't working. Opened it up and found two of the four little conductor wires where the bulb mounts in the socket had melted far enough into the plastic that they were not making good contact all the time. Replaced it and chime/light went away. Funny thing is about a month later it happened on the other side. Either the plastic on the bulbs melts too easy or the conductor wires are not quite big enough.
