Hey Gillot..

So these little convienience features your referencing like horn & lights flashing/honking when locking can be programmed with your key fob.. it's pretty much up to you as to what you want it to do.. Wether it be flash, honk, do nothing, arm security, lock one door or all with single click & lock once driving.. the only one i didn't see in there was the one where your lights actually stay on.. maybe it was, i always thought that one had to be done by scanner.. most of what I've said is all in the original owners manual. At least for my 06 it is.

Meanwhile, before i knew this, i was wondering why mine stopped, i thought something just broke or got kerflunky, however it had to have been when i had my TIPM reflashed a while back and i just never manually programmed it after.

The whole reason for the reflash was i got jammed up messing around with HID's/LEDs and lost power to my DS headlight. I had to go to dealer to get this done.. At that time i was also able to override the fog lights shutting off with high beams as well along with a few other features i can't recall...

If you have lost power to your DS headlight & have HID's, it's deff related? I swear this happens because every single HID harness only uses the passenger side input and leaves the DS unplugged. More importantly, when it comes to the use of resistors, again, every single top teir hid manufacturer only addresses the PS & I only realized my DS headlight was out when i tried to go back to stock. I've reached out to Morimoto as well as TRS, and both say you don't need to provide resistance to the DS.. but when i ask them why not, no one can explain.. I've also mentioned that PS & DS on these trucks are two completley different circuits so why would you not have to show resistance on both in order not to have the TIPM see a problem on the unplugged side, but no one.. & i mean no one.. can explain.. the response is always "we've installed thousands of these kits and no one ever had complaints" Well yeah, because when they have a problem with the system there topically replacing hid parts and not going back to stock, hence the DS out never surfaces & if they are going back to stock they're probably selling the vehicle and once they notice the DS out they reconnect the hid system, this you never hear about it... Ok.. that may be a stretch, but I honestly think these companies just figured out how to get HIDs working without flickering and stopped all research.. no one thought about what happens in the meantime to the unplugged side. Unless I'm mistaken, the TIPM has to see the unplugged side as a problem/short & after a preprogrammed amount of key cycles (i heard 200) it shuts the whole circuit down. Hence my DS not working when i went back to stock.. However, if the tipm sees the circuit pulling big amps, like a b+ to ground, it will shut it down much much sooner.

That's a pretty long explaination & I'm not sure it's the same scenario causing yours, however if it is, i thought I'd just share as i never hear anyone talking about or seeing the DS being unplugged as problematic in these HID systems.. but then you hear about all these DS headlamp out issues... They have to be connected.

Just fyi.. the Tipm can be reset by dealer 6 times before it's preprogrammed to shut down for good.. most dealers do not know this, or convieniently forget in order to sell parts... & yes you do need an older flash/scan tool to work with them as your probably aware.

Anyhow, best of luck to ya with your TIPM adventures...
