ISBe Marine High Flow Head

I noticed on the Cummins website that the 380 hp ISBe marine engine is available. The literature states it is the same base engine that is in the Dodge Ram, but has a higher flow head on it. Anyone consider trying the new head? I wonder how much it is or if it would even mate up to the Dodge intake/exhaust correctly.

I looked it up and its interesting... It would be cool to throw the head and turbo on it ... wonder if its possible... The dimensions are the same as our engine



question is how much $$$$$$$$$$$$$ would it cost to do?

I don't think they are saying that the marine engine has a higher flowing head then our trucks. Instead they are saying the head flows better than the 12 valve 6BTA5. 9.

If I remember correctly the "Cannon Ball" truck had about the same HP upgrade with just a Cummins ECM program.

I wonder what they are doing for the EGT issue for the higher HP?

I would imagine that with the correct factory timing and fuel map they had it under control. I sure wish they would offer a HP upgrade thru Cummins via a flash. I don't care about warrenty as I am my own warrenty station already...

The use of raw water to cool the intercooler and heat exchanger gives them more control over the heat.

On a marine engine of any kind. The engine's coolant (jacket or raw water) flow through water jackets in the exhaust manifold to keep it cool.
