TMTT1, what air pressure are you running in your BFG's? I'm looking for a 255-85 for my dually and the BFG's seem to be one of the only choies around. Thanks Pete

Pete 50 in the front and 55 in the rears. I dunno if you saw the post I had earlier but Sears auto center has the best price (80. 00) less per tire than Town fair's pricing.

I knew that Sears carried the BFG's yet it never dawned on me to go there to check.

Right now I'm running the factory Goodyears and hate them. On all my dually's Ive ran 80 PSI in the front and around 50 PSI in the back unless I was pulling heavy. Too much in town left turn right turn stuff really wears on the front tires.

The truck looks great with the sport front end. I wasn't sure if I was going to like the sport but now that I have it I like it!! Plus its the only red dually 4X4 sport in town... ... Pete

Pete, to be honest with ya there is ared one up here that I saw and that made my decision to do it. (apart from the fact that white Qc 4x4 DRW's in a sport package with a cummins just can't be found... . dunno if they exist)

Yeah they can be found but I've only seen two in two years. That was one of the reasons I ordered the red sport, there just wasn't any around here..... Pete

TMTT1,

I assume you did the sport treatment on the rear too. I bought my truck used and the previous owner must have used the "parking by braille method" as it was bent on both ends, but does not touch sheetmetal. I was wondering how much you paid for the rear bumper so I can make mine like new again.

Hey Tim,
The truck looks great! I'm kinda partial to the "Sport look" myself. I'm starting to see more Sport 3500 CTD's in my area, however when I bought my 2500 Sport CTD over a year ago, they were mighty rare. I think more people are starting to like the Sport after they changed the front-end in 99. It's still fun to watch the double-takes when you crank that mutha up. With mine being 2WD (sits kinda low & at first glance, almost looks like a 1500) people don't expect that sound & the word SPORT to go together!
And I must admit, before I bought mine, I couldn't keep my eyes off that black Sport 3500 with the molded brush guard that was in the Dodge brochure, but when that Intense Blue 2500 showed up on the lot, it kinda grew on me. The rest is history. Maybe when we get a 5er too big for it, I'll move up to the big truck. #ad

Hopefully, we can start finding more goodies that will fit the new style front-ends(like the grill inserts on your old one).

Its funny you say that david, The rear is hoing to CT drystrip over the next week then to get painted so I can utilize my "secret opps" idea on the step area of the bumper, However I am goin' up to see the man him self at dc (Exelent Repore with them all) and will price one out for ya and will post it here... ... Dennnissss Buddy I found what you need. So far ManiK makes a SWEET Euro-brushbar (NEW FOR SPORT) and news on the grapevine is that Lund is making a screenfront (like mine) as well. Howz this? A guy at the pilot station has a 2500 *sport/SS/t/CTD Made it himself. Blue with the SS/T stripes... ..... Get this cut out the SS/T logo and Has CP/T... . Cummins Powered/Turbo. It looked completly stock. A complete ramspaz by nature and will join the tdr in april (Lives in D/C) I seem to meet all the best of the best at this station #ad

Nice Job Tim;
Where did you buy the parts, and how much were they? What happened to the snow in the after pictures? I still have about a foot of that white stuff in my yard here in N. E. CT. I was going to try for the April 1 meet, but have to go to Maine. Maybe next time.

Ron , sorry you aren't "cummins" to the event however It all started when the ol; lady bought me the grille and then I researched the parts and the total I think is 1100. Icluding grille and paint from dodge. I have "hidden Part #s " that are needed for completion. if interested. My stock frontend is spoken for (i think ) but again if anyone is looking 400. 00 takes it.

Toolman... YOU ARE KILLING ME WITH THE "MINI ME" IN THE PIC. , LMAOF !!!! Looks great.

very well done--I sure like my SPORT and the way it looks, I think the trucks look a little tuffer in the sport model and of course a little lift with bigger tires doesn't hurt either---chris

Hey Chris, Is that a Lund bug deflector? That EXACT one is the only one I like and am looking for. However Now a days every Wanna-be online parts & accessories store only shows A Chebby front end when you came there to shop. Click on dodge and Bling! Up comes a picture of that dang same ol chevy front clip showing you what it will look like on your ram. Sorry for the caffiene rush there #ad

TGbol I wasn't going to wait to order mine mainly cause when the search turned up nothing... I went for the non-sport but opted for the lsd,4:10 full knowing i was going to do a sport changeover (didn't think this soon) #ad
Like I said to pete before, I just can't find a White QC 4X4 3500 CTD Sport.

ToolMan. I did much the same thing a year ago although, as I prefer the bumper assembly of the '98 and older Sport Rams (mine's a '98. 5 Black Sport Ram), but favor the grille of the '99+ Sport Rams, I decided to have the best of both worlds (IMO). I added a '00 Black Sport grille, modifying my bumper accordingly to allow the larger, later style Sport grille to fit BEHIND the bumper (instead of on top of it). A pic of it can be seen on the cover of the new DTT product brochure.

EDIT (3-31-01): I posted a pic in a later post.

..... I just can't seem to get away from using that die grinder on my Ram. #ad

They exist. They are quite popular here in Washington state. In my small town of Enumclaw, WA I know of two Black '99+ 3500 4x4 QC Sport 24v Rams... Black in fact. The most awesome looking ride on the planet!

In fact, Doug Hofeldt (designer/builder of the Air Bulldog induction hood) has a '98 12v 3500 4x4 QC Black Sport. *****in', doesn't even begin to describe it.

Enumclaw, where Cummins turbo Diesel powered Rams out number gas powered Rams by around 5, maybe 10 to one. God I love this place! #ad
