They did drill a new hole. I was hoping that they could tie into the one that I already had. The nice thing about having it hooked up to the attitude is that you can set your egts at a certain point and then when the truck reaches that temp it will cut back enough to leave it at that temp so you can leave it WOT and not go above where you set it. I believe the it would still work if you didn't have it hooked up though. The display is real easy to read.

I would take your probe and go post, for shutdown temps.

Then use the Edge probe in the manifold.

well i am happy to see EDGE wasn't messing with us, they do really have a box...

I have so many questions, i dont know where to start

I will just wait till i can ask edge

WELL, just one, how hard is it to install?

Not bad at all. You have one wire running to the fuse box, you tap for a for the pyro and run it to the box, hook up to the injector plugs or what ever they are and to the map sensor. Then you run the wire from you attitude box through the fire wall and plug it in. Then you get in the truck. . turn the key and have a good time. it's a piece of cake :D

so i assume no timing enhancement, right??

(seeing as there is no connection to the cam/crank sensor)

??????????????????

He said that it had timing and duration. Maybe I missed something. I came in the room where they were installing it about 15 mins after they started so I only saw the last half of it. Where is the cam/crank sensor and I'll look to see if something from the juice is hooked up.

The cam sensor is under the CP# pump in the front of the engine and crank shaft sensor is in the VERY front of the engine, left of center.

It should be obvious if they are hooked up, I guess you could change timing at the injector harness, but i doubt it ???????

I didn't see anything. I'm not sure how it does the timing. It is plugged into the 3 injector harnesses and the map sensor that's all I could see.

I have a couple of questions about the install:

1. Does it have a boost elbow that goes in the turbo?

2. Does it have a boost connection to hook up?

3. Does the "Attitude" show a readout for boost?

Yes it has the boost elbow that goes in the turbo

I don't know where they hooked it up to read the boost but the attitude tells you how much boost you have and it will keep a "record" of you max boost and egts and backdowns and all that stuff. It's easy to reset and see what kind of boost you hit on each level. The boost seems to be about 1-2 psi lower then what my auto meter gauge says. I didn't have the elbow on my truck with my edge ez but Aaron said to put it on with this box so I'll do that tonight.

When you get the chance can you find out if its *duration* or *timing and duration*. Also is it compatible with the EZ? Has it thrown any codes yet?

I asked Aaron if it was timing and duration and he said that it was. You can stack with the edge ez and I am dying to do so. I might sneak it on to see what happens. I'll probably run the EZ on level 2 and then see how the juice and attitude likes it. It hasn't thrown any codes. . I turned the key three times and nothing showed and no check engine light. This box is amazing. I wish everyone could have one to see what I was talking about.

I can't see how it can do timing without the crankshaft/camshaft position info though. Are you sure there is not a wiring harness going down to them-they are located under the common rail fuel pump on the drivers side front of motor. One is directly behind pump and is a bear to get off and the other is much lower and easier to get off.

could they be getting timing through the injector harness by firing order and elect. impulse through the injector? you know one fires so many degrees after the other. or would it be to hard to make advancemets in timing that way? I think it could be possible seeing as how its not approved for the 600 yet because of third inj. event could throw the timing off with some bad results. and how its hard to get connections just right on cam and crank sensors.

If you're over about 2000 feet elevation it would explain why you get lower boost readings. The map sensor measures ultimate pressure and they simply subtract sea level pressure from that number for the display. At high elevation they subtract too much. That's how my TST is anyway.

EEK. . I was just putting on a smoke show for a buddy and my check engine light came on so I pull over to see whats going on and the egt probe came out. I'll be up there at edge tomorrow to have them fix it. With the engine on you can feel hot air coming out of the port. Will I be ok if I drive like a grandpa to keep the temps down to drive it up there tomorrow or do I need to clog it some how? I didn't check to see what codes where set. . I'll let you know

Clayton I would try to screw the probe back in, if at all possible. If not I would take my time getting back to Edge as in take the back roads. So as not to get on the throttle too much. Your EGT'S will be hard to manage. IMHO

By the way that 48RE must be alot stronger than we give it credit for. LOL!

Changing settings

What about changing settings on the fly, what inputs are required?

Just wondering about the different Stock/ Mileage/ Tow/ Drive/ Race/ Extreme settings you talk about.

Curious if the road demanded attention yet you were being pulled under by another bombed truck and wanted to select the naw I don't think so mode.

I would try to plug that hole with something. You'll have a serious lack of backpressure with that hole and the turbo won't spool well. I'd try to put the probe back in it and take it easy until they can get it fixed so you don't blow it out again.
