Quickspool Htpm Pulse Manifold

Fuel pressure with a FASS

Just put on the new charger this weekend with some 370's, cut dv's, and custom plate. All I can say about this charger is Wow! He put the smaller housing on mine and spool-up starts at about 1600 rpm's and then it goes from 10- 50 psi extremely quick. I've only seen about 1200* so far with those fuel mods and temps slowly drop back from there, this things does move some air. Extremely happy with this purchase. Definitely woke the truck up. I would like to thank J. R. for all the time he put in with me on the phone and questions that I had. He has a great charger. I would reccommend him and his services to anyone.

Thanks for the report Travis. Is this a turbo that takes a lot of fuel and smoke to get spooling? How clean is it when boost builds?

I am not familiar with this turbo, what is it comparable to? What size outlet?

J. R. has done some good modifications to this turbo so as not to be a lag pig, and it is not by any means on my auto truck. The dv's on my truck are cut as far as you can go with them but this turbo cleans up smoke very well to just a haze. I have the wastegate set low to save headgasket for a while. Great turbo in my opinion and supposed to be tough as nails.

Its my understanding that JR's 'Lil 55's have been putting a hurting on some other well known turbo's on the pulling track. Those others include the B1 on steroids. I know TDR member Smittybilt ran a 'Lil 55 from JR and always placed highly and won quite a few pulls around KY last year.

A 'Lil 55 is definately where I am headed next. :D

So far no problems or complaints and am very happy with this turbo. I can see why this turbo is doing well in pulling circuit. I like the fact that no won has blown one up or damaged the Lil 55 yet.

I agree Mark. I can't think anymore! :-laf

Man, new job coming up next week. With the way they pay, won't get my first "full" check until ~July 20th. :{ Right after my 21st birthday. :) Oh well, i'll enjoy watching what's going on here in the meantime.

Anyways, who's running the 'Lil 55's in the pulling circuit? Can it be easy on the HG for some time? How hard is it to install? Just some questions that I wanted to throw out in the meantime.

that figures ...

we've gotta build a house and will be ready for our second one in about 6 months...

pretty much guarantees that you'll be all sold by that time ;)

I just put my Lil 55 on a couple weeks ago, easy install no problems of any kind. About the HG, I kept mine wastegated at 45 for now to save it , but I am still driving like and old man until the o-ring job.

Any fabricating work that has to be done to the exhaust? Could a guy just buy an aftermarket exhaust kit with a 4" downpipe, or is there going to be some sort of cutting and welding?

Any problem with spool-up on a truck with an 89% converter?

I too am curious about this turbo. Can the gate be set pretty loose? (38-42 psi?) Which downpipe does it take? I currently have an EEP downpipe (3" at the turbo blown out to 4" for the rest of the run. ) What kind of power #s is it capable of supporting? Would it at least be a partial cure for my insane EGTs?

Sorry for all the questions, but a turbo will be coming VERY soon on my truck, as I graduate college on Saturday.

Will the 'Lil 55 takes a 4" downpipe and is 4" out the back of the turbo as well.

You ask if it would be the cure for your insane EGT's... . all I see in your sig is a #10 plate? Your getting insane EGT's from a #10? Try a "custom JR plate", JR laser cut DV's, & 370's... ... that's needle between the T and the E EGT's... ..... THAT'S INSANE EGT's! :-laf :-laf :-laf

If you have the fuel to spool it then yeah it will keep EGT's cool but unless you have some other things not in your sig you'd be better off with a smaller charger of JR's. Give him a call #'s in the sig he will set you up right. ;)

I'm pretty sure that J. R. 's little 55 will take a B1 down pipe. He probable even has a few or can get you the flange and clamp to make up your own. :)

He can also make some serious injector sets if you need some more fuel to spool up that little charger. ;)

Give J. R. a call before pulling season get's going and guys start breaking and I'm sure he can take care of all the questions you have.

I am moving more than adequate fuel... here's vid of my dyno runs...

If I really hated my truck I could more than bury my pyro, pretty easily, I've already had it to 1600 once (more than hot enough for my taste) in a little spirited race with a ford focus...

I have a feeling I could probably spool this turbo fairly well. Thanks for the DP info Darrell, that's what I was interested in.
