Jacobs Brake on 04 dodge, will converter lock up?

Will the converter lock up when the jacobs brake is turned on? Will it pull the engine back and will the RPM's just fall? On 06 trucks the jacobs works perfect, just curious about 04 and the Jacobs brake combination, thanks

It will lock up but I would install a TC lock up device to have better control over the TC clutch. BD-Power makes the autoloc, torqueloc or the best Towloc. I thnink that there are other boxes also but I am not familular with them.

Just wire up a tc switch for him. It's cheap!

ya, thats what i said, but he just wants it to work on its own. He does a lot of in-town driving with a heavy trailer and he said he didn't want to use the switch all day, i don't blame him. I love the way the 06 trucks work the trans and the exhaust brake at the same time, and i wasn't sure if the 04 would do the same.

Well, when he comes back and has to have you install a new converter cause that one is trashed from using that brake he'll think twice about the cost of the controller.



$400 for lock up controller or $5 for a switch



$1300 for converter.



Hmmm, tough choice.
