What's the truth about 2004 HO?

How hard is it to install an EZ box on ISB-E???

We got it installed from Rocky Mountain Cummins for $1,299 + $50 to join the booster club, plus sales tax. The Dealer wanted $1,800 and said he didn't know about availability but "heard" they were back ordered. (we installed it after purchase because it was not available for some time).

Casey,

Why should the dealer have known the parts were valuable? I went to one last week that didn't know what an exhaust brake was.

Dean-looking at the air pump I don't believe you could use the old stock belt in case of emergency. The pump gets in the way. I hope Geno's can get replacement belts. I was not offered the elbow or old belt back. By the way dealer cost on the Jacobs Brake is $840. :D

I agree with JMBROWNING... ... ... ... .

We give the customer the manual... . and since the PacBrake doesn't need a special belt we don't have that to worry about... .

We give the customer a training session and a walk around the vehicle showing him were and what we did.....

The last item we offer the customer is the elbow... ..... I'm guessing that out of hundreds we get maybe 4 -5 a year that wish to keep them..... and the rest go into the trash... ... .

To be honest, I'm never tired to price one and see what its worth, nor have I ever seen one damaged... ...

We deal with lots of Cummins stores with other products... ... and they know we do PacBrake... ... . they have never called looking for the elbow either... ... ...

I do see that you have been shortchanged if the installers company doesn't take the time to take you for a test drive, and training session, as well as a vehicle walk around showing you what was done... ...

And BTW, we do offer a special price to TDR members for the PacBrake Exhaust Brake... ... and their in stock... ... PM me for more details... ...

Jim,

I would agree that as a rule most people wouldn't want their old parts back, but TDR members are generally the exception to the rule. If no one gave much thought to their trucks or cared at all there would be no TDR.

I wouldn't take offense at what is said about some vendors or dealers, if they get a bad post there is at least at 75% chance that it is deserved. Don't forget all of the praise that is doled out to vendors and dealers on these forums also.

It swings both ways.
