Jardine 4" installed

they were shipped 10-2 arrived 3pm 10-5.
Took longer to wrestle the old ex. off than to install new. every thing fit, all hangers went right on, no modifications to any thing even the ball coupling bolt holes were correct.
Quality parts.
the one thing I did notice was an increase in cab noise from the rear of the truck. I checked all the hangers to make sure there was no metal touching the frame or body side of hangers. It is a roar similar to exahust touching frame or body. I will recheck every thing in morning. The hiss in exhaust went away after a few miles driving.
The turbo spools up much faster and picked up +4 lb boost m/t wot, less smoke when wot from unspooled turbo as boost comes right up. Dont get that 2 sec lag befor afterburners kick in.

I am getting a 4" System put on in the morning with a 4 1/2" raceing 40 series flowmaster Muffler, Its just a small square one, alot smaller then the stock muffler. The place that is installing for me called the tech's at Flowmaster and this is what this guy recommended. Ill keep ya posted on how she turns out.

I noticed the rumble from the rear of the cab right off also. I double checked the hangers etc. could not find any discrepencies. After a couple weeks driving I kind of like the rumble.

Traced it down to 2 points
1 the ex pipe from down pipe to muffler is ossolating like a g string on a banjo, this is causing sympathetic vibrations in the cab and drivers door... ... ... needs tuning #ad

2 the muffler skin is doing the same thing. needs tuning also #ad


when I get back I will take 2 lengths of 1" angle and clamp it to the exhaust pipe and muffler: this will dampen the vibration and should squelch the rumble in side.

Jnutter, please let us know if the clamped on parts work.
Mine had a howl above 2K rpm, but has mellowed out quite a bit. Would like to get rid of some of the noise.
My fuel mileage went up 15%, but I don't know if it was the 4" system, or Bill K's transmission mods that is responsible.

I have brought this back to the top to ask if anyone has done business with Jardine in the last 3-4 weeks. I had ordered 2 systems and one of them arrived minus 1 down pipe. I am very happy with the system that I installed on my truck. I can’t get a answer from them about why the other pipe has not arrived. Please let me know how other orders have gone and service after the sale.

An update on my above post:

I was promised my missing downpipe would be delivered "overnight air" to me on 10-31. I still have no downpipe today and it will be soon 5 weeks since the order and money charged to my credit card. I am losing patients fast.

Anyone else?? I know Carl has a group purchase going now. Are any systems being delivered?

Believe me, I have thought of that among other things. The word is they outsource the downpipes and are having a hard time getting them. Another reason I posted this was to see if anyone has taken delivery of a Jardine system. If so, I am going to the ****** .

I have already installed one system and I am VERY pleased with the quality and ease of installation. I just wish they could resolve this problem quicker. It is hard to look at a brand new 4” system sitting on the garage floor for a month.

I called Jardines this morning since I had ordered one three weeks ago. The person I talked with said they are still having problems getting the downpipes. I was offered a 3. 5" downpipe and then 4" the rest of the way, but decided to wait a bit more to see if they get their shipment in.

Gotta have it installed before Dieselfest, dontcha know.

I ordered a set of headers for my old 454 Chevy from Jerry. They stood behind their product, even shipping some missing parts from their vendor. When ready for 4" pipes will go to Jardine again. They are great folks to do business with. #1 in my book. They will do you right and will not mess with you.

I received the second downpipe on Friday. It took 5. 5 weeks. I hope they have resolved their supply problems as I am very happy with the Jardine system and would buy again. I have installed 2 of these systems and they are almost to easy to install, and the best part is it is still close to $200. 00 less than some other vendors reduced prices.
