:) I just ordered my new jardine exhaust today and I was wondering if any of you guys out there had any tips on the installation. The people at jardine said the biggest problem Iwill have is getting the original off. I was planning to the install myself at home. thanks pete.

Get a sharp blade for the sawsall! The system is great, the directions can sometime be lacking. Mine bolted right on, with one minor flaw in the directions. If I remember right the pipe after the muffler had to turned around. Take you time, it's just a small puzzle.

I love the Awesome sound of mine!

Just got mine on....

I just installed mine in less than 2 hours. I have to agree the instructions are lacking. A little common sense goes a long way there. It looked like I would have 2 clamps extra. Some of the clamps they have welded for hangers dont quite line up at the joints so I moved em over a little and just used them to hang. No more extras then :D

Love the throaty sound. EGT's dropped by over a 100°. Turbo spools up quicker and boost finally broke 30 lbs. Cool down is quicker also.

Hoping the milage gets a little better but as all my toys are fairly new there is a little too much right foot going on:D :D

Hope you enjoy yours too!!

Sawzall is definately the ticket. Cut the short piece of pipe after the down pipe and before the muffler. Cut ut near ech end. The down pipe and the front part come out in one piece. The back part witht he muffler / resonator / tailpipe come forward over the axle in one piece. You stall have a 3" system intact but for one pipe.

Put up as they state down pipe, 2 4' sections, muffler, tailpipe. I had to cut one hanger a little at the back. I did have clamps left over.

A little thinking goes a long way. Easy self install. I did not even jack my 4 X 4 up.

Get some long extensions for the downpipe bolts. Easier to get from the bottom. The biggest problem is the pipe after the muffler. We took off the rear hangar and cut the front of the two hangars off for room. The pipe here does go on backwards to the instructions. Extra clamps are for hangars. Dont worry about trying to line up seams with hangars. The pipe order from front to rear is downpipe, 4ft pipe, 4ft pipe, muffler, bent pipe over axle, tailpipe. hangar with large, long rod goes in at crossmember. T looking hangar goes at muffler, the others will be easy from there. Sawzall is a must get a long metal blade that is longer than pipe is wide or you will have fits. Put rear wheels up on blocks to give you some headroom. Lots of beer and busted knuckles. Good luck. Its really not too difficult. :D

I wanted to chime in here and give credit to those deserving.

"You'll love the sound. "

Yes, I agree. This is because we complained about the problems we had with the first mufflers. The shorter variation caused a nasty drone which was not acceptable. Performance Diesel.net requested the longer muffler which proved to be terrific sounding and lacked the brain softening drone at cruise speeds.

"They did a good job designing it as the installation is really no problem. LOL. "

Yup. Someone did some R & D to make the system fit better. That was Blair Pine. He worked with Mat at Jardine to get the hangers to work properly.

Thank you to Blair of Performance Diesel.net:)

:) Mike the latest issue of the TDR Pinnacle Performance Jerry Jardine. $432. 00 plus shipping I added the chrome 5 inch tip for an extra $50. 00. phone number is 1-800-934-3569 that price is for TDR members only. Pete

WWCD2

They are offering a deal on WWCD2 for $425 shipping included. As it is a huge package I imagine that's a great savings. That's what I picked mine up for 3 weeks ago.

Just before installing mine, I got out the TDR mag. with the article on doing the Jardine 4"; in that article the writer said " with the application of a little heat" he was able to "slip" the joints apart. That appealed to me (now I wonder why), so I tried it.

With the application of lots of heat, and lengthy application of a heavy hammer and a come-along, I finally woke up and got the sawsall out. From then on it was an easy job, with only a few seconds of confusion trying to install the over the axel piece as directed. It was obvious that it had to be the other way.

I like it.

merryman,

I had the same experience with the pipe over the axle. Didn't take very long to see the directions were wrong. Funny thing, I wrote Jardine about this in October of 2000, and I guess they still haven't changed the directions.

Oh well, I still love the sound of the Jardine system!

What directions  ?

Directions - I think those are the things that got left in the garage. The truck is it's own dorections. Can't move the rear axle the bend can only go one way.
