Jet Fuel?

When I was in the Marine Corps years ago, I was stationed up at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station working on UH-1Ns. This was back in 77 to 80. Anyway we had a line mechanic that use to take the daily flight sample bottles that were going to be dumped and he would put them into his Mazda car which was a Wankle Rotory Motor.



He did this for the entire time I was stationed there. JP-4 or JP-5, I forget what we used at the time. That was all this car ever ran on along with the waste oil from the trannys for motor oil.



He got orders and left the car to another guy on the line. It sat for a couple of weeks not being started and then when the new owner tried to start it, it would not work. The new owner decided to rebuild the engine.



When they got into the engine, there were no seals left on the rotor and the fuel system was toast. The car went to junk yard.



Needles to say we were all amazed that it ran for so many years on just JP fuel.

I have a 2001 2500 4X4, I have ran pure JP5, WVO with a blend of kerosene, jet fuel, unleaded gas, etc. . all have worked well. The WVO mixes seem to burn a little hotter. We run straight JP5 in all of our diesel support equipment.

HMMM, wasn't there a thread on here about using diesel in small engines a little while ago, something like BS lawn mower and string trimmers.

I do know a Mazda rotary will run on JP, but it does bad things to the inards
