Anybody have one of these in their truck? I'm interested in the one that goes under the rear seat. How do they sound? What did you end up paying for the box? Thanks, -Glen

The JL box sounds good and is a clean install, you must bolt it to the floor foor the best results. They run around $700 here way over priced. I built my own and used two h2e 8's and it hits just as hard. Mtx also makes a nice rear box for the rams and the JL stealth box that has the 12" sub in it that goes in the center front seat also pounds.

Jason, Thanks for the info. I will have to check out the MTX box. The JL Audio box is over $700. 00 here in New York. Thanks again, -Glen

I would strongly suggest the front seat box, see sig. ... the system I have in my truck is probably the best sounding setup I've heard in a truck.

I was leaning toward the dual 10 box until I heard both of them in my truck, the 12 is extremely accurate, and has an all around good sound.

I am with HiPerf360. See Sig. I can not suggest the JL center seat strongly enough. It sounds get the the 12w3 sub is one of the most durable subs out there. The dual tens are lower end subs but they would do the job. The most important thing is to send enough power to the subs (either option) or they will sound muddy.

Thanks for the input. I'm not to crazy about the idea of drilling holes in the floor of my truck to mount the rear Stealth Box. I'll have to check out the 12" center seat box. That would kind of make sense since it's square in the middle of the cab. Thanks you guys. -Glen

Picked mine up @ tweeter in January for $400.

The center Sub works well. It was talked about in this Thread a little while ago.

Ted is correct about the Amplifier being powerful enough to push the sub. I have a 450 watts pushing my center seat sub and it SOUNDS AWESOME .

It 's just not the most comfortable seat in the truck . You'll know what I'm talking about after you read the thread.

Just a lesson from my experiense. I switched from a JVC head unit to a Pioneer Premier series with a high volt output and it made an enormous difference with out changing anything with the amps. I am running a 250A2 rockford amp putting 250 bridged to the 12w3. Sounds awesome.

Glen,

Before your choose a sub and enclosure you should concider the music style you like and the volume you like to listen to it. I personaly would not run just a 12" sub, they sound good, but not what I like. Mainly because I like rock music, so I run two rockford h2e 8's theese subs will take 300 watts a peice all day and are rated at 500 max. If you like to here the floor bass on a drum set vrs the bass gutiar I would go with two smaller hi power dual voice cole subs like the h2e's or the JL w-6 series. I had two JL 8w-6's before my h2e's and realy liked them. But you will find people always think bigger is better. However if like rap, r&b, and country yu'll love the JL12. I also think a smaller sub reacts better a lower volume.

Just my $. 02

Gentlemen, Thanks for all the input. I'm leaning towards an Alpine CDA-D857 for a head unit. As far as amps I'm looking at Rockford-Fosgates. Not sure which model yet. For door speakers I'm thinking MB Quartz. I'm a metal head. always have been, always will be. -Glen

I am also running mbquarts in all four doors. They are great but I have a problem with the front speakers hitting the door pannels with higher mid bass toons. Just think about the clearance in your install.

Glenn,

It looks like I'm the only replying so far with the dual set-up under the rear seat in my truck. echoing whateveryone else has said, it is a matter of personal choice. Music style and listening preferences plus sufficient power to make the sub(s) work properly. IMHO, you should also consider some sound deadening material almost everywhere in the cab (i. e. Dynamat).

I have no complaints. :p

Good luck with your ICE-bomb
