Question of Power

Is an out of round brake drum a common problem?

I have BDS trailing arms on my truck. They are same length as OEM. They are built out of steel square tubing and equiped with replaceable urethane bushings toppped off with a coat of black paint. They look good and fit ALL model 4X4 Rams. Supposed to be stonger too. BDS said you don't need longer arms until you lift 3 inches or more. I leveled my truck with a BDS 2 inch lift spring cups up front and 1 inch add a leaf in the rear. I like the results quite a bit. I bought them at The Performance Shop for $189. If you look for them, look up BDS or Big Dick's Suspension Co. They reduced the wandering effect (even during braking) and gave my truck a better "feel". I highly recommend them to anybody who has the mysterious wandering problem #ad

{Raising hands, jumping up and down!!} Have the PITA wondering and brake pull problem.

Even worse with bigger tires.

Did you install the trailing arms first (prior to the lift)? Or all at once?

I would think the longer ones even without the 3" or larger lift would give a better ride. But anything would help. Have to try that, heck for less than $200 bucks why not. If it works!

This <is> good news #ad

I would bet that three inch longer control arms without a lift would give you to much positive caster.

Your probably right. I would leave that to the suspension pros (Which I am not). But Never seen the longer arms on a truck that wasn't lifted at least 3" Guess theres a reason.

But I am interested in replacing the stock arms with a 1 to 2" lift. I'd go three, but that puts me too close to the garage door, esp with 285/75 tires.

Talked to Glen at BDS and he said the control arms that are offered as an option for their lift kit (Part #122302) are the same length as stock.

Hey guys,

Maybe I missed something, but the web site only has lift kits for 1/2 ton trucks. I didn't see anything for our heavy 3/4's.
Am I just too tired to read correctly?
(it is 12:19 here. . )
Thanks...

Call BDS, they can lift your truck. Make sure you tell them you have the diesel. I ended up using I think Dayton 2 inch spring lift cups. I used BD 1 1/2 inch add-a-leafs in the rear. Tell them you want the extreme duty spring clamps. I used the ones provided and broke all 4 in 3 days. I told them and they automatically knew I had the diesel. They sent me the better clamps. They work a lot better.

I replaced my OE upper & lower links with Rancho's 2 years ago. Much better the cheap OEM stamped arms with those junky rubber bushings. Truck seemed to track straighter. Nice improvement in steering, cornering and general feel also. The Rancho ones look identicle to the BDS ones, except they are gold anodized & have red polyurethane bushings.

Hey guys, Sorry no picture #ad
I have no digital camera, my scanner doesn't work, and I'm computer dumb. I wouldn't know how to post it. But I will tell you that you would be very happy with the results. My truck aint afraid of work. She has the occaisional scratch and very minor dent, but she is very beutiful! I love my truck. You would be very hard pressed to get me to trade her in. Drop me an e-mail if you have suggestions on how I can get pictures on the post and I will gladly post them.
