That's what I'm Getting

If I went any slower, I'd be walking!

Point is some people claim unrealistic mileages.

Don't get me wrong but as you can see by my sig I have the same truck as you.

I'm not pulling yet but unloaded, mixed use mileage, I'm getting 16-17 mpg. This is not on the computer, this is actual mileage divided by pumped gallons!

Love this truck!... . =)

16/17 mpg mixed sounds realistic. I get 14/15 city and 17/19 highway with no load. The overhead computer always does better.

However, there are some people here posting fantastic mileage that I have a problem with.

It is great to see trucks that are doing well. Mixed emotions on mine. 78k now. Ball joints, front u-joints, rear u-joint, TIPM reflashed twice, need a multifunction switch, replaced the defrost door and recirc door in the hvac unit. Had lots of fun with that one. The ball joints I expect just because of plowing for two years. The constant little electrical problems and other little problems are what irritate me. The truck is still good. Runs great even with stock power. Still miss the rattle of my 12v.

I have had to replace the ball joints twice (the first replacements were under warranty), the steering knuckles once, steering shaft, u-joints, driveshaft yoke, transmission from 47 to a 48 and a new transmission line. But once i installed better quality parts I have had zero issues. I have 160k on it, I will be needing new injectors and two new batteries other than that this has been by far the best vehicle I have ever owned (foreign or domestic) Oh and i get 10mpg city (I'm always the first to the next light:-laf)and 17+ mpg hwy( because the little lady is normally with me on the highway and shes got a mean back hand#@$%!).

My 99 had a K&N for 185,000 trouble free miles with great oil analysis reports.

My 06 filter minder pulls in after a week or so after installing a new paper filter.

This 06 sucks in air big-time and the filter minder does not move at all. The paper filter doesn't cut it. This 06 also gets great oil analysis reports. If I drove in high dust areas maybe I would stick with paper, but in eastern Pennsylvania it is only filtering leaves and snowflakes.
Do the PSM cold air mod or Home Dept version and the filterminder won't budge with the paper filter until it's dirty.

Just looking at the trucks that are having problems most of them are 4X4. Its nothing against the 4X4 but thats what you do with it. Take it off road and have fun its going to cost you . As for milage I pull a 29 ft TT and get about 14. 5 mpg drive at 60 to 65. Took it Elk hunting in Montana bobtail drove 80 mph just to stay out of the way of the trucks and got 21. 5 all stock with 373 rear end . I figured it out 3 times and my son 2 got the same awanser. I didnt think is was correct.

But Grizzly doesn't believe that anyone gets better mileage than he does. :-{}

I suppose I'm one of those that makes outrageous claims of nearly consistent good mileage. I have gotten as bad as 9 in heavy winter idling and plowing but mid-high 20's in leasurely summer cruising. I do have a couple of friends that own similar trucks that don't do so well.
