just got smart

I just picked up my new to me smarty from a fellow tdr owner. he went from a 3rd gen back to a 12v. I think that I will be fine with the current bully dog tq dog chip, which does boost and fuel. I will do some reading then plug her in. I will go somewhat mellow as the transmission is not yet built and no gauges yet. any tips?

The only TIP I have is put an EGT gauge in and then hook the box up. Oh and keep it below 1200 deg's.

Depends on what the BD box does; timing, duration, pressure. The bulk of the Smarty is going to be timing and duration so make sure what the the other does first before stacking them.



Too much timing is going to give you issues with cylinder pressures and temps so KNOW for sure what you are doing with the stack or you can easily melt a piston or drop a valve.



Anything over 40 HP is going to impact your transmission life. The higher the number the shorter the life.

So I loaded up sw #2. this is all I want until gauges. speaking with Bully Dog this older version does boost fooling and adds fuel preassure. I could visually see and feel the smarty. from a stand still if I punched it I would get a small puff, highway it would be a tiny puff. Previously I would get a tiny puff from standing and nothing on the freeway. She is for sure a bit quicker.
