God I love it a 24" piece of a broom handle and your good to go ;) (if you have a Laramie).

Just stick the piece of broom handle in the square section of the right hand seat slider and use the power seat button for idle adjustment.

I can attain 1200 to 1500 with no problem. The ECM for some reason doesn't like what the TPS is telling it between normal idle and 1200 with out the speed sensor reading something.

But from what I have been reading I guess 1200 is desirable anyway.

Mac

Mine is an '05 3500 with G56, built in March. I just noticed its 'high idle' last week while it sat running below normal operating temperature. Start-up is 700 rpm and it was driven about 5 mi. and parked running. . in less than five minutes rpm went to 1K. I've also found the seat belt chime 'gets tired' after five minutes , but the 'red man' doesn't. These qualities came from the factory. Hopefully I'll find XM radio if I push the MODE switch a few times while in cruise control.

Fast Idle Solution for my "03" 6 Speed

I used a piece of 3/4" x 1 1/2" wood ??" long cut it in half, drilled the ends and threaded a turn-buckle into the center. then cut it to the propper lenth

to fit between the seat and the pedal.

Cut a triangular shape into the end that goes against the go pedal, and the other square end goes against the seat bracket bolt.

Geez, come to think of it I even stained it with walnut stain, must have had waaay toooo much time on my hands that night.

Twist the turn-buckle and you have an infinite range of throttle control.

I just enabled mine before a road trip up north courtesy of Bully Dog. Works great. Just turn on and set the cruise to attain 1000 RPMs. The accell button can raise it as hiigh as 1500 RPMs. If anyone tries to mess with your truck while it's idling high... ... just whack em' with the broom stick:-laf
