My dealer did a search and found this for me in a nearby city, I hope it isn't overkill for my needs. I wanted the maximum load capacity and towing power. It's a 2014 RAM 3500 DRW 4x4 Laramie with the 385 Cummins and AISIN transmission. It also has 4:10 gears, factory sprayed in bed liner and the fifth wheel prep package.

My fifth wheel weighs 14,750 loaded for extended trips. I could have made it OK with a 2014 SRW but this time I wanted to have a truck that was big enough that I didn't have to be so careful about taking along too much stuff. My wife doesn't like the looks of a dually but she went along with my choice. I've never owned a DRW but I'm looking forward to it. The new trucks are too long to fit in my garage anyway so the extra width won't make any difference. It should carry my slide in Lance camper easily too since it's not too heavy in my current 2005 SRW. I'll have to add swing out jack brackets.

I should have it in a couple of days, needless to say I'm pretty excited. :D:D:D I'll post some more after I get it. I plan to use the B&W turnover ball adapter #1314 for the truck and use my current B&W Companion fifth wheel hitch.

Congrats! I went from a third gen to a fourth gen and will not look back!

My toy hauler is right at the same weight as your trailer. I love towing with a dually as the stability in crosswinds and built in safety margin with 4 tires is very comforting.

And agree with Wingate, PICS!

Congratulations!! You will love hauling your Lance camper with a dually. I've been a dually owner since 1992 and wouldn't haul with less.

Congrat's on the truck! I've owned a srw truck that I pulled my 5th wheel with with no problems. Then in 2009 I purchased a drw and pulled the same 5th wheel. I did not like the extra width and didn't feel it provided anymore security or stability with the extra wheels. So I ordered the truck in my signature to pull the same 5th wheel, it weights about 13,000 pounds fully loaded. It took me a while to get used to the extra width and I scraped a couple of things. So you will have to remember you have them fenders sticking out.

Ron, I see you from MN. If it doesn't fit in garage where will you park it?
It will be parked outside. I have a paved area where my fifth wheel is parked and the truck will fit there too. I spend winters in AZ so it won't be parked in a snowdrift;)

I just heard from my dealer, I can pick it up this afternoon! Oo.

New signature coming soon...

Well I have the new truck, too dark for pictures today. I'll spend the evening reading, it's almost like going to a new version of windows to try and figure out all the stuff on the touch screen. I definitely need to get some step bars, (wife says ASAP). I forgot how high they are without something to step on.

Cool man, congrats! Looking forward to the pics! I've had DRW's for years and love them, other than the increased cost of tires.

Some Pictures

gtoli, I stay in Tucson, been staying in same RV Park for 21 years.

Pictures taken this morning at the shop where I was having the new B&W turnover piece #1314 installed so I can use my companion hitch.
