why would some one choose to jig the kdp over tab it??



I have tab'd 2 trucks in one week with the second taking 4 hrs this makes me wonder how long does it take to jig(drill and tap)a kdp???







I would almost rather change my front main,and easily set my timing when I tab the pin???



where does my thought loose speed??

My front main seal was leaking so it was a no brainer to go with the tab. The other plus is being able to check all the bolts out. My neighbors first gen had a bolt come out, get cought in the gears and snap the gear and front of the camshaft off. He ended up replacing the head. Wished I had thought about the timing.

Less time, costs less.

Takes me about 1. 5 hours to do the jig, gets shorter every time I neuter it. I really believe the jig should be a temporary fix until the cover can be pulled and the kdp tabbed, especially for the 1st Gens.
