Ok Vaughn, I'm in the RE-0880 club now. We've got a local Summit Racing toy store here & the filter & pre-filter were in stock. #ad

I'd already gone thru a scrap pile this summer & scammed onto a hunk of 4" PVC, so things were ready to slide together. #ad

Wholly jet plane taking off now #ad
I wonder what the wife is going to say when she hears that! #ad
Oh well, it stays. #ad

I am confused. I just got a shipment from Geno's and I got a Fleetguard AF25541. This filter does have about a 1/2" thick green foam glued to the paper. Is there some other pre filter you all are talking about, or has Fleetguard changed designs? New owner here, I have never even opened the air box, just buying filters to have on hand.

Let's have a "recount" of your valves... . hmmm, STILL TOOO MANY #ad

Come on you guys! You know the 12 valve is an outdated dinasour. And the only people holding on to them are cigar chewing old cronies who are too cheap to step up to the plate. Why they wouldn't know what to do if they could do 0-60 in 12 seconds. These are the trucks that should all have a "Good Sam" sticker right in the middle of their talegate cause when you finally get to the first "thing" holding up a long line of traffic it's either a "Good Sam" camper or a 12 valve, smoking and bucking. Most of the 12 valve guys I talk to in a campground still use toilet paper as their oil filter. There they hide under the hood in greasy levis, chewing on a moldy cigar, with a beer belly hiding the cowboy belt buckle doing something with bailing wire and duct tape. Those trucks should all be parked on 135th street behind the tall green fence, still and dying and out of sight. JMHO!

I'll tell you what Tom... If I could turn back the hands of time to January 1998 when I was seriously contemplating the purchase of a 12v or 24v QC Ram, and do it all over again, I'd purchase the 12v Ram over a 24v IN A F'n HEARTBEAT! The P7100 injection pump is so superior to that cheap POS VP44 it's not even funny. I've seen them both, both taken apart no less, and let me tell you, a VE Rotary and a VP44 won't buy bus fare across town. In fact, if there was a new '98 QC 4x4 12v Ram (preferrably a BLACK Sport) that I could purchase without some inflated price tag... I'D BUY IT.

I'll keep my K/N filters. I've been running them for over ten years in my vehicles in dusty invironmnets and have had great service.

Just sold a '90 Toyota 4X4 with 170K miles on it and it didn't burn any oil. I attribute a big part of that to the K/N I installed at 22K miles.

my too sense.

You just keep makin and spendin that money on stuff that inflates your oversize ego and makes you feel cool, but you don't even understand. You just keep on makin and spendin that money for someone else to work on it. Keep payin them taxes boy. Sounds like a real good return on investment to me.

I'll just keep my old POS 12v and let my money keep working for me #ad

tlippy, Just a reminder - the ONLY REASON that the 24 valve head has been created is to meet EMISSION (SMOG) laws.

Also I've heard of a few instances of the 24 valve heads cracking (jnutter), probably due to all the extra unnecessary holes in them #ad

I've seen the good and bad of both versions. The 24 valve is really a 12 valver with an extension of the rocker arms. The 12 valver is simpler and easier to work on due to the lack of an expensive scanner to read and delete codes. We're all on the same team here, cant we just all get along?

How the heck can a 24v claim to have better emissions when they burn 25% MORE fuel????????????????????????????????????

John, you could always convert your 24V to a 12V. What would this take? New heads, new pump, etc... ... ?

Emission scemission, go to Asia or Africa and see how much driving your new "clean" Ram really helps. Think of how much polution, energy waste is brought about in the manufacture of an entire new truck. These new trucks do absolutely nothing that a 12v can't do better except make the owner "feel" superior when he is driving down the road, secure in his knowledge that somehow he is smarter, having been seperated from his hard earned money by a bunch of "suits". A few years down the road when the lease is up, he realizes that he doesn't have the latest item. Step right up, sign your name and just keep sending your money #ad

YeeHaa, I love a good food fight #ad

Oh Larry B - there's no doubt about it. I AM SUPERIOR and it's guys like you that reinforce my opinion. I paid cash for my truck because I was smart enough to learn how to earn sufficient money in my lifetime so I don't sit around and try to make excuses for not being able to own the newest and finest. BE AMERICAN - BUY NEW - CIRCULATE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY!
btw - YOU WANNA RACE?

If I wanted something to race I'd buy and race another motorcycle, not a truck. You have no idea of performance until you've hit over 160mph on a motorcycle with 40 other riders trying to beat you.

My Cummins is for pulling a load economically. Strap on a 8000lb trailer and lets find some steep hills, then check our milage. Oh yea, my $30,000 that I didn't spend is invested making %12, so I get to deduct that income from my expence. Hey, I guess My rig is making me money. Thats the bottom line.

With a net worth of over 4. 2 million I probably could pay cash for a few new Rams too, but I'm only 45 and raising a family so have a little longer to go before I get too tired to play the game. Just keep giving that money away and keep listening to the advise of the people trying to get it from you, THAT'S the American way! Me? I'll just provide for my own financial security and let guys like you pay for my social security. Thanks, I appreciate it.

Don't you think it's time to trade that old POS 99 in? I mean with an auto and tall gears I'm surprised you even can call it a truck and try to pull your trailer with it. Sounds more like a stationwagon to me. You are probably one of them guys that stay in the left lane while pulling up hills cause your too proud to let a real puller by.
