I'm tosing that junk K&N air filter, I have had the second boost sensor go bad and it has the same goopy black soot on it and its the oil from that pos filter.
I called K&N and tried to get them to do something like refund my money and they told me they don't recommend using their filters in turbo charged diesels. If they don't recommend it why do they sell it
And for those of you that think I might be over oiling it I don't even oil the intake side of the filter. The damb thing is sucking the oil threw the filter and its getting into the cold air charging system and fu*!in things up.
This pisses me off because I love the one in my atv and the one on my scag mower, and have not noticed any dirt passing threw the one on my truck but these 50 boost sensors are getting expensive.
I will be going back to the fleetgaurd air filter and keeping it from now on.
