TST Kit - A Good Idea IMHO
I bought my truck a month ago.
Got the KDP kit from TST a week later. Yeah, I waffled on the price too ... it's a measly little piece of metal and a bolt, fercryinoutloud.
But IMHO, if you're gonna pop the cover, it's foolish to re-use the crank seal.
The kit comes with everything you need.
I'm pretty decent/fearless at wrenching, but ZERO experience with diesels (this is my first). The TST Instructions were clear and thorough, installation was smooth and easy. I only found one small error, they forget to mention the wiring clip on the bottom of the radiator shroud... caused a bit of #@$%! .
Here they are, if you want to review them first:

I'd say get the TST Kit.
OR, enlist someone knowledgable to help you with the KDP Jig fix.
Joe G. (and others) can hook you up.
Jig Fix is cheaper, but requires a bit more mechanical 'mojo'.
Beer and/or pizza provide fine incentive for wrenchy buddies...
Either way, JUST KILL THAT SUCKER - SOON.
Mine
was poking out about 2mm... not any more
Press On,
