Competition DHRA Points Pull: Stoneboro, PA July 16th

Competition H2 got his *** handed to him today.

This trip was the trucks first venture on a 1/4 mile track. Learned quite a bit. Like we need to move closer to a 1/4 mile strip... lol.

Best of the weekend was 9. 22 @ 147 with the worst 60 foot and 1/8 mile times. Considering we are over a full 1000 pounds heavier than the Cummins/Lucas Rail (3640 pounds), running on #2 pump and water only, thats not a bad number. Especially considering the conditons.

Sat was 1. 47/60 foot and 1/8 @ 6. 0 Different tune on Sunday took the truck to a 1. 29/60 foot and 1/8 @ 5. 69 with what Keating describes as "VIOLENT" tire shake in high gear. This caused dzeus fasteners to pop out of the interior panels during the pass and having to seriously back out to avoid having to buy some wall and new sheet metal. That pass would have been well into the 8's. Think we know the cause. Last pass tire shake caused the high pressure line to fracture.

For those that were not able to see the truck run, here is a link from our last run of last year with the motor in less than ideal condition (the comments at the start of the video were things people actually said the first time the truck rolled out of the trailer). The only way to describe the launch is it sounds like wet velcro being ripped apart.

9. 20 first 1/4 mile run? And heavy? My,my,my.

I got to see the Sunday run, but missed Saturdays. Looked pretty awesome.

Even the pullers were turning around to look.

It was great you guys showed up. Wicked fast passes no doubt and like Gene said, when you went down the track, everyone could hear it. I know it made me spin around while I was dynoing every time. :-laf

Hope to see you guys down in Atlanta September 10th. Let me know and I will have you exhibition along with the Scheid rail.

I should say, me too. Really a bad ride. We had our fifth wheel next to the track, and the wife even commented on the passes the truck made. No need to make any excuses for what you did. First time out the gate, holy cow Bat Man, what do you expect? I look forward to see you at other tracks. Like Commerce?

Can't wait.

. . Preston. .

Ditto what David and Preston Said... . That machine was killer to watch run.

a 9. 20 in that kind of heat your first outing on a 1/4 mile track is awesome..... Congrats!

Richard, thanks for coming down to the dyno Sunday to say hello. It was great to put a face to a name finally.

Thanks David, It would have been nice to visit with you, but I could see you were very busy. One of these days I hope to get the privilege of running the big green Ford on your dyno. :D

With the AIR ON... :p :-laf Man I have been drinking water all day today STILL!!!

9. 20's on a track that was reportedly 140+ degrees!!!! Amazing... ..... - just wait til that nice cool air later in the season... ... ... .....

Sorry to see the other posts go, but understand. :)

The engine we made passes with at IRP was a 4 year old hot street setup out of Keatings Dually. As with most others, we have a more agressive motor program on the stands. :-laf

One thing I've learned here, if the governing council here don't like what you say, it's trashed. Power is absolute and that's final. You know that. Still I think the way I do, and what I say may not stay here but I will not change from the truth.

LPreston... ... ... . Y'all keep the truck going. I like it.

. . Preston. .

Yeah, I didn't figure it would last for to much longer.

LPreston,

Congratulations on the runs, they may not have been as clean or fast as you would have liked them to be, but it was a darn good show for us to see at IRP. Good luck and I hope to see you make some more runs at future races. We are trying to put together an 1/8th mile shootout at Jefferson Pageland Dragway in August, (www.jeffersonpagelanddragway.com). Maybe you would be interested in making some passes down there?

Ted

Ted... nice website for a local track! Not sure what August holds for us, but I'll certainly run it by Keating. Always looking for something different to run. How far is the track from Greenville?
