My 2005 CTD is gone, taken from my driveway this morning. The police officer said that the CTD is becoming a popular vehicle for theft.

No glass no nothing just gone, its like some one had a key.

I won't buy from tobin dodge or 4wheel parts again.

Where are you located. I have heard of numerous thefts in the Arizona area. If it is my neck of the woods I will keep an eye out for it. Sorry to hear about this.

That's an interesting comment about the key. Mine has the "chipped" key. If your's is the same, then the key would have had to have been made for your truck. The dealership made an entry key for mine but supposedly, it won't start the truck. It's for when I lock my keys inside. You should check to see what, if any, security system you had. If it required a special key, you may be able to quickly narrow down the list of potential suspects.

that sucks... that is one of my worst fears. reason why i wired up a kill switch and that chipped key will not let regular key start it... but nether of those will stop a tow truck :(

i hope you either get it back in near perfect condition, or you never get it back at all and insurance covers it. those are what i would like... i really wouldn't want back my truck if it has like $15,000 in damages on it [although i like my engine better than the new 325's and the 06 front end i don't like]

Dang, 20" rims and all...

So did you have a sentry (grey) chipped key?

I've heard of someone having their car repo'd by mistake! I think someone else mentioned a tow truck could slip away with your car/truck without leaving any glass or debris behind. In this case a chipped key or kill switch wouldn't do a bit of good. An aftermarket alarm may at least alert you/someone that somthing is going on... . I'm pretty sure our factory ones don't come with a motion sensor to detect the vehicle being raised at one end.

Yeah, if the towtruck had an eagle claw, they can hook it and drive off without ever exiting the cab of the towtruck. I had a friend that did Repo work. Kept him from getting shot a couple of times.

I didn't have the chiped key, I didn't know that it was an option. There really was no theft protection. I won't make the same mistake twice. Hopefully in a month I will get the insurance and I will buy another one. The truck is probebly in a 1000 pieces by now. The real bummer is that I think that I am out at least $6000 for the extra stuff on the truck.

come to think of it none of the trucks at the dealer that I looked at (there were alot) had any theft protection device.

Does any one else find that odd.

I need to find a dealer in the Las Vegas area that I can trust for my next purchase.

I live in Las Vegas, I went to Dave Smith motors and got my new truck last month. I did not waste my time in Vegas, flew in to Spokane 250$ for the plane ticket, two nights in a hotel 150 dollars and a nice drive home to get know my new truck. Well worth the time, and saved hours of pain :{ at a local dealership. The deal in Idaho went just as planed no last minute games was on the road in less than 1. 5 hours.

There are advantages to living 20 minutes from the nearest town..... at the end of a 2 lane county road... ... ... ..... 1/2 a mile back in the woods and through a swamp down a private road... ... ... ... ..... with a 95 pound pound sheppard and a 115 pound Chocolate lab on guard. :-laf Hope they find the truck unharmed.

to program a key the dealer has to have the truck AND original key to the vehicle or it can't be done. and any keys that are not present during reprogramming will not work after the adding the new key.

If you want an honest dealer to deal with in Las Vegas, go to Pahrump and to Saitta Treadeau Dodge, Treated me right and gave me a great price.

If you can wait, I'd go through Tomeygun!

Cheers, Bill

P. s. I WILL be on the lookout for your truck

You can trust me ;)

Course you might find a Bomb or two before delivery...

Well I think you guys are headed in the wrong direction. The dealerships don't hire criminals and if they did they would be washing the trucks in the back fourty. I think Scooby called it. You should call your lender and make sure it wasn't repoed. 2-3 payments missed and It's towed.

i dont think that is necessarily true. with the equipment a dealer has, i think they can program a key when all others are lost. additional keys can be programmed without equipment if you have at least one programmed key.

The third call that I made after the police and the insurance was to chryslerfinancial. I have not missed a payment to them ever through two vehicles. I have good credit and I try to keep it that way.

i wasnt referring to criminals at the dealership. i am in the industry myself. but it is not at a dealership though.
