Thefts in my area are up and I want to install a kill switch. Has anyone done so, and if so, how? I have a 2010 with 68 auto. I have looked for a kit but have been unsuccessful and online info seems to be sparse.
Thanks

a friend installed a stainless steel ball valve on the fuel line but that didn't stop someone with a flatbed tow truck. His was a furd F350

what about the " club " the locking bar thing that goes across the steering wheel? been around since the 80's? cheers comrades!

my neighbor had a club in his f-250 and they still took it. Said it took them two minutes to get into the truck, remove the club and get it going and away.

wow. thats nuts. i have a buddy who owns a diesel shop. they pull a bunch of relays in the fords and lock them in the office because they get stolen so often. also have a friend who had a new mega cab ram diesel just got it stolen 2 weeks ago. i dont know how that happens with all the " technology " and such, but im a caveman. im guessing flatbed on the ram...cheers!

On my 5.9 L, I put a toggle switch under the dash. I guess the crooks are more sophisticated now. But alarms are too. A few ideas I had;
There's an alarm that sends you a text if your vehicle is bumped. It also incorporates a Gps tracker. They claim 25% of your insurance if you let them know you have a tracker. They claim it pays for itself. Don't know a thing about it other than this;

As far as a switch, on my truck it's fuse 7 that supplies power to the starter relay. Or possible find the wire off the ignition switch. That gets more complicated but could be done.

Look under the dash where a manual transmission model would have the clutch pedal. There should be a jumper in that clutch circuit. You can splice into that circuit and install a hidden switch, or in my case the after market keyless entry had the provision of a starter disable feature/circuit that I used. This was very common mod for the 2nd gen crowd.

Did your truck not come with a little Keyed dongle under the dash near the ignition area? When I bought my truck i didn't know i had this little thing wired to the ignition that if the fob wasn't connected the truck would start. 1 day I got in it to go to work and the damn thing wouldn't start. Took me 3 hours of trying to figure out why and it was this damn dongle that was hidden so well my wife actually found it and it wasn't much bigger than pack of gum.

That sounds aftermarket. Any photos?

This is what I am talking about but mine was WAY under the dash. Actually had to remove the knee panel, ignition box and few other wires to get at it. It was only connect VIA 2 wires. I cut it off, spliced the wires together and tucked away. I figure if someone is going to steal my truck, they are going to get it no matter what and that's what my insurance pays for.

That's not stock.

I agree, if they want my truck they will likely get it or trash it in the process.

Not me. If anyone means harm to anything around me they should be ready for the consequences. I have been fighting since birth and will continue to death.
