It’s funny since KORE has been working with Fox & Deaver the new company response is “It’s going on a Dodge sorry can’t help you out. ”

Funny Huh?

A company being loyal to one who puts forth effort to develope new products funny? What if you came up with a new shock or spring for a specific vehicle, then bout $80K of them a month. Should a company violate trust and sell said shock to someone else? I don't think so! That is where the integrity of this whole discussion comes to play. :-{} When Fabtech has Fox build a shock, can you call Fox and buy it? EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Wrong! How about buying a Deaver spring designed for Donahoe/Ford systems? NO! It is industry standard to protect those who design and sell unique products.

Kore has been testing for a nearly a year. The 2. 0's will eventually replace the current Chase Series that uses the Bilstein 7100's. By designing the high-end Fox shock as a remote reservoir stem-top that uses the OE shock mount, you get the very best shocks money can buy and you save a ton of money because no special shock mount is required. I have seen these shocks in action and they are amazing. From a second gen truck with a camper at 80 in the rough to the Black Truck trying to spank Big Red on the way to Rancho Grande. There is no better system available, at least not just yet> ;)

The performance is phenomenal. I would dare to say within 15-20% of the 2. 5 race shocks that cost over twice as much. Same coils, mini's, BDB's... Max performance+ Minimum price.

Greg, are the new Fox shocks that big of an improvement over the Bilsteins? My KORE Bilsteins do everything I need them to do but..... ?

No, Greg, I am not talking about loyalty and I was not asking for the same stuff the KORE uses. Back year ago I could get leaf spring paks for $950. 00 to $1100. 00 & when I called Fox it used to get questions like “What is your spring rate?” “What is you sprung & un-sprung corner weights?” Still no problems getting customs for Ford or Chevy.

I was under the impression the Fabtech is now doing their shocks in-house since they hired Dave.

So with these new shocks do you still maintain a 10”+ travel in front & & 11” travel in the rear?

Hey Guys,

I was interested in these shocks that Greg posted a pic of and got this direct from Kore. The new Chase system consists of the following:

New Fox resovoir shocks

Front coil springs

rear mini-packs

Billet sway bar drop blocks

New zink plated u-bolts

Bump stops

resovoir bracketry

Here are some of the benifits that i can see:

easier/quicker installation

Uses the stock front shock mount/bucket, therefor no issues with installing a much larger turbo( no clocking required)

performance within 15-20 % of the race system for 1/2 the price

Retail price is $1935. 00

Available 1st of january

what an unbelievable system for a bargain price

There is no doubt in my mind that this is the system of choice from Kore.

best regards

Diesel Dan,

In your first post you stated that these are some of the benefits that you can see.

Lorenz,

this is my thoughts and the facts on Kore's new Chase system

I am curious to know, what are the performance parameters that you were considering in your assessment? How do you arrive at the value of within 15-20% of the race system. Have you tested both? What tests did you conduct? What measured values compare within 15 - 20%. Would you mind sharing the actual measured numbers instead of the relative values (of 15-20%). I am only asking because I have purchased the Lorenz system and since this will be my first race quality suspension I don't know what to expect and want to make a good comparison with my stock system to make sure I got my money's worth. It would appear that you have a good way of comparing them, must be somehting like doing a dyno test after installing a new engine performance part to see if it is just so much marketing BS. Everybody knows the seat-o-the-pants stuff isn't worth a damn.

Jonathan,

The 15-20 % figure came directly from Kent Kroeker. I should have mentioned that in my post. I have the Bilstein chase system and i have ridden in the race truck. Even though it was not yet a "race truck", The difference was huge. I love my Chase system but will probably upgrade to the New Chase system. The bang for your buck is amazing on the new system.

Best regards

Wasn't the concern of KORE's original upgrades the fragile nature of the stock upper shock mount and rubber shock bushings under rough conditions?

I don't think the stock mount is fragile... ... ... I have hammered the 94 in every type of terrain and it still lives. But you must change it to use a standard type shock end(vs stud mount) :-laf

Gents,

The inspiration for the new stem-top shock came from a certain group of our Canadian customers who use their trucks commercially for servicing pipelines and oil rigs. Canada has endless miles of terrible unimproved dirt roads that reach deep into the back country. These workers have to drive these roads every day to get to their job sites. The tricky part is that they have a limited amount of time to get from one service point to another, so they’re essentially off-road racing all the time. They call and tell us so many stories of how rough it is that we've started calling their territory "Baja North. " The feedback we received from them led to the new Chase Series.

We designed the current Bilstein 7100-based Chase Series to be the do-it-all system – which is why it’s become the choice for serious commercial use. But continuous mud, snow and road chemicals increase maintenance required for a shock designed for hot, dry desert racing. We wanted a high-performance, 2. 0 remote-reservoir shock that could simply be installed on the truck and then forgotten about – no matter what the climate or conditions. First we had to modify Fox eyelets and body caps to fit the Dodge. Then we tried bushings that would retrofit into existing heim bores. They worked fine on the street but we were able to destroy them during only one weekend of testing in Mexico. This mandated a complete redesign of the shock’s eyelet and body cap, so we could use an hourglass-shaped bushing and sleeve. The whole shock became so Dodge-specific we decided to take the additional step and make the front units stem-top.

Since we use the same no-compromise Mini Packs, coils, Billet Drop Blocks and bump stops found in our Race Series, the performance comes really close to the 2. 5” product. Many people who call us want a system for rough, multi-purpose use, but explain that they won’t ever jump or race their truck. This new system is for them – 80% of the performance of the Race Series for less than half the cost. We comfortably ran Rancho Grande to Coco’s Corner in 20 minutes and 15 seconds using this set up – that equates to just under 100 mph. in the straights and safe pre-running cornering speed (slowing down and long-necking for oncoming traffic). With the Race Series you could go a bit faster, but not much because you’re limited by many other safety factors that have nothing to do with suspension.

In February, we’ll be offering the shocks alone for stock height and 4. 5” lift kit (non-KORE) applications as well.

Cheers,

Kent Kroeker

I suppose I should also mention that we have another new system that will be available late March.

Your Dodge will have more wheel travel than your motocross bike.
