What a Sight

Generator rack for back of travel trailer

I'm looking at a 1991 Kountry Aire 40 footer. It needs some TLC. Does anyone know where to buy parts for one? Like flourscent light covers, fender flares, (one broke off when a tire blew) air conditioning vent covers (inside), and new outside rubbers for the slide-outs? The price is pretty reasonable if my truck will handle the size and weight. Also, are the flourscents in the ceiling 12 volt or 110?

Thanks,

Greg Davis

The flourescent lights are 12 volt, the covers should be available at Camping World and some other camping outlets. The fender flares and rubber seals will be a mfg's. item (Newmar) and the factory is in Nipponee (sp)Indiana. A/C vents might be found elsewhere like hardware store or building supply. You don't even want to think about traveling in that thing with a 3/4 ton. You could pull it from wherever it is to a park but that would be the limit. I had a 95 31' Carri-Lite and it grossed me out at 19,500. bg

Oliver88,

I'll 2'nd B. G. Smith.

I own a 89 37 foot Newmar Kountry Star. Weighs over 12,000 lbs empty and dry. If you have a blown tire in a curve with a 3/4 ton it will not be pretty.

In looking back, I never thought twice about pulling my 88 Oliver pulling tractor (10,400 lbs. ) on a 3,700 lb. gooseneck trailer all over western North Carolina (including Saluda Mountain (I- 26) and Black Mountain (I-40))with a 95 standard cab 3/4 4X4. I guess I was too dumb to think about it then, plus my wife and children we not riding with me as they would be while pulling the camper. Thanks for the good advice. At the price, I can buy it at, I could still give it some TLC and make a little money off of it.

Thanks,

Greg
