Are all first gen KSB the same in function?

Just took a test drive to Fla and back to see how my modified turbo would work. (58mm comp wheel and new comp housing). Lower top end EGT, better road speed.

Read a TDR post about disconnecting KSB so after leaving Daytona to head north I disconnected mine(1989, non I/

C).

Got higher EGT less power/top speed. Reconnect all fine. Tried it a few times same result. 400 miles on level I-95. Same tank of fuel (90 gal tank).

My wife thinks I should watch the road more and gauges less, I disagree.

Thanks any info.

No bathroom to lock her in?:-laf

Sounds like your tinkering was successful;)

Thats where she was.

It runs better, mpg maybe a little lower, but now I can go faster. Still need water meth. With the big Freightliner front I might also go looking for charge cooler.

You'd love the ones in the school bus. They are four inch pipe in/out. They are bigger than you'd imagine. Huge!

So you drove down to FL just to see how the turbo worked..... That sounds like something I do. :D

Yes, the method you described, it sounds familiar. And no, they do not all function the same. When you disconnect yours, it's in operation.

Is yours remote mounted?

Thank you Dr. Greenleaf. That would make sense.

I'll have to look for a dead school bus with a cooler, should be lots around here.

Not remote, mounted right on the pump.

Three week test drive, now and three weeks in the fall. Hate to have the world come to an end and not have seen as much of the US as possible.

Thanks

Thanks Pete.

I thought Syracuse was buried, and cut off until the spring beer truck breaks through.

My house only has around 3ft on the ground

I didn't even get that! The total from lake effect and the noreaster was about 2-2. 5 feet. Most of that was the noreaster. I'm just south enough to miss the real heavy lake effect. I was in Oswego last week, wow!

I don't worry about the beer truck, I put in all mine in November! ;)
