I want a: Chebby Colorado/Cummins...

Cummins Power Booster Card

I am thinking about gettting one of these mowers in the next month or so. I had to see if I was approved and I was suprised that I am able to do this. However, I am not sure I want to make payments for 3 years. Which is 3 years 0 % interest by the way. By the time I get done paying it off it will be almost 10,500k for the thing. I do have to special order it since there are not any with a 48" deck on them. Any bigger and will not fit in my shed. I know Kubota's are very good tractors and will last a looong time. Would you guys buy a new one and pay this much? If you are not familiar with the GR2120 it is the diesel riding mower. I am torn between buying a new one and looking on the web. There are not many out there on the web which are diesel.

I had a GR 2110, a 2008 model. It's a nice little mower, but that's all it is. It has the typical Kubota quality, but has nowhere near the brute strength that my 22 year-old 16G Gravely does. The 2120 has some improvements over the 2110, the first of which had some transmission and 4WD issues. I sold mine several years ago with only 43 hours on it, it was indistinguishable from new, but the best I could get for it was $5000. The improvements on the 2120 and the 0% financing killed the resale value. It was also about $3K cheaper than yours, some of that difference is due to the new emissions regs. that the newer engines have to meet.

Thanks for the info. I am still debating/deciding if I should just keep looking for a used one. Buy a used one and no payments be done with it and save money for other "things". Thanks for your input.

I would tell you to buy a used Gravely, but not too many made it that far west. If you really want the GR, buy a new one, it is considerably improved from the early models.

I just looked up Gravely mowers and the only thing that comes slose to a regular riding mower is the Zero turn. I do not like those. Still like the Kubota because of its quality and it is a well known brand.

I recently went through a similar experience; however, I was looking at a John Deere X750 2-wheel drive diesel lawn tractor with a 54" HC auto-connect mower in the same price range. There are several features on the JD that I like better than the Kubota. Last year I looked at and demonstrated a JD X740, but didn't like the hassle of removing/installing the mower deck. The new model X750 solves this hassle with the auto-connect feature. The local JD dealer and I couldn't come to terms on my clean trade-in 14-year old JD345 with a 54" mower and 620 hours on the clock so I passed, and so far, I'm keeping my 345 and my $$$.

I should have been more clear: I was referring to a used 4-wheel tractor, not a new zero turn.

Just bought one. . with the bagger. The idler pulley on the belt for the bagger is a joke and the engagement of the mower is pretty rough... . both things should be better for the money. btw my unit with the 54" deck and bagger was under 10k. . by one dollar. cash price saves you about 300 from Kubota.

The well known Kubota GR 2110 recurring transmission problem may have had a lot to do with the low re-sale price too. In contrast, late model/low hour used John Deere X7xx series diesel lawn tractors are selling for almost as much as the new ones.

Mine had an override feature to allow you to mow in reverse. It also activated a flashing red light on the dash. The only way to turn it off was to momentarily disengage and reengage the mower deck. The owners manual had information on how to disable the MIR feature, but not how to defeat it.

The John Deere I had I was able to hotwire it so it would mow in reverse without having to hold a switch I have not seen my Kabota yet because it is being shipped to me but was wondering if you could also hotwire it or make it so it will mow in reverse

Have a GR 2100 4x4 54" deck got it new great machine! The diesel is cheap to operate, last mower was a JD 317 gas good mower , but I like the foot control for direction. My cost of mowing has gone down and I mow more now! I have 450 hours on it now have replaced two cables for the wheel clutches, replaced the bearings on the pto clutch at 425 hours. The transaxle case was replaced by Kubota, a change from sleave bearings on the axle to a ball bearing at no cost. Have been using Gator mulcher blades now quieter and use less fuel great cut. I think the new cost was about $8000.00. If I needed to get a new one it would be a Kubota front mount diesel. Laurie

Two years ago same kind of a dilemma, Garden Tractor we were looking at could double up in the wife's Garden. When we actually talked about her Garden idea & size a little Garden Mower/tractor would have been to small & I didn't want to spend ALL DAY turning up ground for her Garden.

We went with a John Deere Z Turn for the lawn work, and bought a King Kutter tiller for the Ford NAA tractor & we already had a Two Bottom Plow for it

Point is I would give a SERIOUS look at JD equipment, The Z turn is a quality piece of equipment as were the JD Mower/Garden Tractors that we looked at in the same size as your Kubota

Another thought came to me. I watch RFDTV they have a segment that's called "Classic Tractor Fever". The other day they had a program devoted to the Garden Tractor or Smaller tractors (don't know what the actual classification is called)

I had no idea that there was such a following of this portion of the tractors, Large companies, John Deere, Case, International Harvester and Many more all made this size tractor. There are still plenty of business that a guy can get all the parts needed to re-build these tractors into like new condition with a little wrench time you could have fun restoring it and solve the problem with payments for the next 3 or 4 years.

I agree based on my JD655 Z-turn mower. The ultimate lawn tractor would be a JD X740 diesel with the drive-on auto-connect mower deck.:D

Dan

I came back to see if you had any decisions on your plan yet. I'm interested in seeing how this pans out for you and your choice of attack..

Hope it all works out
