New Lance will be here in a couple of days. Dealer said to get rid of plastic liner in truck bed. I was thinking about Line-x for bed. Good or bad idea?? Dealer surggested a rubber mat to prevent camper fron shifting.

I use a rubber mat in my dually to haul my 1161. The camper is very stable and does not move. Fully concur with your dealer: get rid of the plastic liner! Too slippery to be hauling the camper on and probably adds a coulple of inches to the height of the truck bed floor. I don't have the bed sprayed yet, but you bet it will be Linex when I do! Everything I read is good stuff. Multi-color and fade resistant depending on the dealer/installer capability. Shop around, ask lots of questions, and make your best decision. Lots of post here on the TDR about bed liners; Linex and other brands. Do a search. You'll be glad you did!

Rhino is more slip resistant than LineX. its softer and more rubber based. both have same life time warrenty and now if applied right will have the same texture.

i went with Arma, as its JUST like LineX. i dont have a slide in though. if i did i would have gone with Rhino.

I'd do both.

LineX because it is the tuffer of the two and would prevent rust.

Then had the mat (they are cheap) for a little cushion and slip resistance.

I've got the LineX, and really like it. I don't have a slide in, but I don't understand why you would need the mat. To me, the LineX seems very slip resistant.

I've got both Line X and a rubber mat. Agree the rubber mat is probably not needed with the Line X, but what the heck, it wasn't that much more money. :)

I've owned/hauled four different Lance campers for over 20 years. I use a rubber bed mat and bolt the Lance camper guides through the mat.

I have traveled over 11,000 miles with a Lance and my Rhino lined bed. No problems.

I stopped using the rubber mat when it started slapping the back of the cab when the bed was empty.

If you want to save some weight just use a piece of that pink foam insulation that you can get at Home Depot. My camper needed to be raised 2 inches to clear the roof on my '05 so I asked the camper manufacturer (Northern Lite) what was the best way to raise it. They said a piece of foam insulation, they were right, and it does not compress either. I have Line-X and my camper never moves since the foam bites into the liner. Also gives you some extra insulation for those cold nights. I thought they were nuts until I tried it. Cheap too!

What type of Hardware would you have that is going to be mounted into the bed of the truck? Guides? Mounts? What type of mounts does your dealer feel you need for the camper?

I have line-X on my flatbed. During the winter I have a "shack" with topper for gear and occasionally dogs. The line-X has worn through on the corners. But I wouldn't expect less. I'm not complaining just letting you be aware that wear spots are possible. I would do it again in a minute because it is so nice to have a tough deck for hauling firewood and not slippery. One of these days I'll have the spots touched up.
