Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Trans Problem

My 1999 leaked three quarts of oil in ten miles. 15 - 20 below. Dealer resealed cover withspeedy sleeve and crank seal. $ 120. 00 for parts. I thought my extended crankcase vent hose was plugged by frozen moisture and blew out the seal but the hose is larger than stock and goes fairly straight down and the splice is right by the hot engine. Anyway when my RASP was installed (not by me) the harmonic balancer (4) bolts were not tightened properly and one fell out and two were really loose. Lucky I caught it in time. I replcade the damaged bolts and put some loctite on them and they never got loose again. The dealer said the holes are deformed and wanted $319 for the balancer but I will find a used one and replace. My question is did the loose balancer do the seal in? The rasp has been on for three years but I did have some minor leaking from the front of the engine. Very small seeping?? Anyway did the imbalance make the seal go bad and/or the vent hose in combination. I,m searching for the why and how to prevent it happening again. Thanks for any help or good advice.
