For those of you who are considering purchasing a Leer Legend Camper Shell for your 2014 Dodge Crew Long Beds, you may want to re-consider your choice of camper shells.
I bought a new one for my 14' and although the color match was perfect (silver) the mold that they have made is not the best fit for this model year.
After one week of driving I noticed that the shell was actually starting to rub paint off the back of my cab and was very disappointed to say the least. I returned to retailer and showed what took place. The dealer said that the Leer mold used for the 2014 Dodge long Bed was not one of their best molds.( I wish he would have said something before making my purchase). The arc on the front of the camper shell has significant rake and allows only minimal space for flex between the shell and the cab. So, I simply loosed the retaining clamps and shifted the shell back on the bed 3/8-1/2" back. The problem was taken care of yet I have a1/2" overhang off the rear of the bed now which is not really a big thing.
I had also already drilled holes for a Yakima Rack System into the shell so I could not return it. The sales rep stated that the Snug Top Brand of Camper Shells was a better fit but had a cost increase of roughly an additional $400.
This just a heads up to potential camper shell buyers with a 2014 crew cab long bed.
