I know that individual municipalities have their own "police" departments. The county and unincorporated towns are under the jurisdiction of the county sheriff's department. Is this right?
Is the sheriff's department actually like a "county police"?
So - who are the "marshalls"? Are they a federal entity at the county level / statewide?
And who are the "constables"? Municipal / County / State?
No real reason for asking, other than curiosity.
