Greetings diesel motorheads. I am not new to diesels, having sold my 91 Dodge 4x4 with just over 120,000 miles on it a few weeks ago, so hopefully I won't try your patience with ignorant questions. I sold my 91 because I wanted more room and a ride that didn't cause blood in my urine. I bought a 2001 2500 QC 4x4 long bed with the 6 speed. I'm pretty sure it's white in color, the interior is agate, whatever color that maybe. It's weird, I think to myself, to have spent just under $31,000 for a truck I haven't seen yet as it is in Oregon and I'm in California. I bought the truck over the internet and never had to put anything on more than my underwear, which is fortunate for me since I have 2 broken wrists I suffered while riding my dirtbike. I get the casts off on Tuesday as well as 5 of the 7 pins so I figure that will be good enough to allow me and my buddy to go pick the truck up.
I have been reading all the posts on this site as well as reading all of my TDR magazines for info, great help by the way. What I have gathered so far is the truck may or may not do one of the following.
1. Not steer straight.
2. The 6 speed is gonna be stiff shifting for a while till it breaks in.
3. The air intake hose may collapse.
4. Some of the intercooler lines maybe loose.
Don't get me wrong, I am very much looking forward to picking my truck up. I loved my 91 as it was a fantastic truck. I hope my new one is as good of friend to me as my old one was. I knew what to expect from the old one, now for the new one I'm trying to find out things to look for before I take it off the dealers lot. Any suggestions other than just enjoying the ride?
Thanks to all,
Pat Daniels
2001 2500? QC? 4x4? 6 speed? White? Long bed?
Tires? Wheels? I'll stop now...
