There is a list of 1/4 mile tracks in Texas. They must have closed the one in Navasota. If none of these places sound good, then let me know and I can list all the 1/8mile places too.

Hey me4osu, ever been to the Sealy track on saturday night and watch those country boys pull thier mud grips off in the parking lot and put slicks on thier pickups and then pull on the strip then race them? Thats a good country atmosphere type track, just back your truck up to the strip, let the tail gate down and sit and watch. There is also a new track going in down towards Clute at FM 2004 and FM 523 it sould be done by November.

Wayno

I haven't been to a "run what you brung" there yet, but I have taken the kids down there to watch the pro-mods and pro-street cars run every now and then. One of the track regulars Robert Faerman owns the property next to mine.

That is the best thing about that track. Being able to back up to the berm on the tower side, sit in the back of the truck and watch a good race. :D :D

There are also 2 tracks in the central texas area. There is a track just outside Waco and there is also a track in Temple. I'm sure these tracks wouldnt mind letting some diesels drag for a day.

The Ennis TX track is really nice.

If we could get a bunch of Dallas/Fort Worth

Cummins Ram and Powerstroke owners to

come, it would be a huge turnout!

I didn't see the track in Seguin listed, but I didn't read every page of this thread either so I may have missed something, just bringing it up in case it was missed... . :)

tracks

While we're all throwing names of tracks out there I'll toss one in. WALL DRAGWAY I realize this whole thing started out as a Houston local idea and I have no problem if you want to keep it to that area. I was just thinking that it would be more or less fairly centrally located in the state. Besides, there's something you gotta love about a track with cows in the background :-laf This is one of those tracks where you can back right up to the fence and tailgate party.

I have corresponded with the folks there and been reassured that our big smelly monsters would be more than welcome to come run in either their trophy or heavy classes. We would be running amongst the gassers and it wouldn't be a big deal with vendors and stuff but who cares? We can blow soot all over rice burners (hey that's worth price of admission right there) and we can all just get together and hang out. They are supposed to be sending me a copy of their monthly paper that has race brackets listed etc. They'll sign you up for their paper if you want it just email them.

Where ever we do this thing, I don't care let's just do it and not let it die on the vine. It would be a blast to get together and hang out and race.

I guess I should throw an update out here.

I've been in contact with a couple of local vendors who are interested in putting this show on. We've spoken with HRP and plan to do so again in the near future to hammer down a price to rent the track for a day.

We will also be working with the local Powerstroke club (HAPS) and the vendors that cater to them as well.

There will be a full blown announcement when everything is finalized. Stay Tuned.

You know, with it still some months off, I can re-arrange my tight schedule and head down that way. I haven't been that far south in Texas yet. I could even serve as semi-official photographer.

Besides, I need an excuse to head out to CA to visit my aunt; havne't been out that way since around '85 or so. And I'll be needing another vacation from my semi-retirement by then anyway.

Hey Gitch!

Powerstroke Racer on the Ford side mentioned the Houston raceday event might be on the 26th of October. This would be in conjunction with the "Clash Of The Titans" event on the same day.

You hear this too?

Any progress on pinning down the date.

Gettin some!

Hey bud, I have a couple of days to order tickets to SEMA, I need to know if I am driving or flying. Can we get an update sir?

Gitch is in Massachusetts, so I will give yall an update.

We are working on it but its a monumental task, as of now its all about the money that LSTDR ain't got, so we have to line up enough sponsors to cover the cost.

If you have an idea for a sponsor E-Mail Gitch and let him know about your idea.

Its possible that we may have to wait until next year for this to happen but we are working hard to make it happen this year.

MDW, can you address my questions?

Is October 26th the date you are considering?

Are your comments based on combined efforts with the Texas PSD clubs?

I have to believe that the combined bargaining power of our two forces should be compelling.

C'mon Texas, let's make this happen! I personally feel that Texas should be involved (host) in at least one multi brand event per year.

Gitch, gitchyursef home, for ya catch pneumonia!!!:D
