You don't want to work with CF Grey Ghost, I hear all those oil field guys drive company Chevrolets. :{ :{ :{ :D At least our's do.

I drive these. The tractor pictured is an older one. We drive the new Volvo trucks. It will have a Cummin ISX 400 HP engine in it

Sorry to rant and long post

I would rather be working with CF instead of setting in an office

at Shell waiting for them to lay me off so the can ship my job to the far east at "cheaper salaries". They say, they have to, to be competitive, I keep asking the SOB's who is going to by all these company products when no one is working in the USA. Shell made almost 9 Billion yeah Billion last year. 26% came from the US, but we are too expensive. All the big boys in europe got nice pay raises and big bonuses for cutting cost. Not us. Never have been a union man or for protectionism, but I sure am changing my mind in my old age.

I am about read to set up a web page to get people to petition congress to stop this mess. I want countries to pay the same tariff in the US, that they charge on our products. Rice burners won't be so cheap with a 100% tariff.

A little better

Well, believe me when I say that under the unions is not much better. I paid dues for 14 years and when I needed the union they let me down. I have had my throat cut by the union and the company, I cannot say which hurt worse. I can also say that the labor laws in this country all look good on paper, but have no bite, unless of course you have the money to hire the best lawyers. :( Believe when I say that the large company's can do anything they want, I fought many battles for the Union and found my rear in the wind when I needed them.

Just luck has put me where I am today. I have a good boss and stay out of all the politics at work. Someone says "thats against contract" and I walk away slowly to find my shovel and a deep hole to work in. I only have three more years before I take it and run. Until that time "Be vewy, vewy, quiet!". :D

All the oil company's are cutting back. A little hint, go where there is natural gas. It is going to boom soon. Coal bed methane is big where I am going. Say goodbye to pipeline and hello to methane. :D Just hope they have room for a worn out old pipe liner?:D Good luck GG. .

Will miracles never cease?

I actually agree with CF's post.

I'm skeered!!

I cant take a picture of my "office". They dont allow cameras here... theyre afraid of corporate espoinage

It looks a lot like the pic of a control room that turbo Tim1 posted, but smaller with twice the instrumentation.

Re: A little better

CF,

Are you moving to Gillette? Plastic pipe is your friend. :D

I have also heard of some big drilling in the Uintah, but I didn't think it was for Coalseam gas.

Tell me when the natural gas boom hits. I haven't seen it yet. :(

Gitch,

Our guys can choose from a CTD or PSD. Of course the smart ones at the big green H choose the CTD. :D

Here is a pic of one of my many outdoor offices. :D My indoor office is a big pile of files and papers. Not very interesting.
